24 April 2009

I was informed that, for some unknown reason, the hentairules.net domain (alongside with a shitload of other porn websites, apparently) has been banned by the ISP Virgin Media UK. I still wonder why this, go figure :roll: (But after all, Virgin Media UK is also the only ISP in the whole world whose CEO openly declared on TV that “Net neutrality is bollocks”.)

That hurried something I was thinking about for a certain time : taking a backup domain, just in case. In case shit happens or hentairules.net becomes unreachable, you’ll have this backup URL.

So, guys, if you ever need it, remember, http://www.hentairules.us exists now :)

Mind you, that’s not a pure mirror, copying a blog’s content to a different URL requires annoying technical manipulations, I’ll synchronize the backup URL with the real domain two or three times per month only :o

And if some of you guys ask why I didn’t chose hentairules.com, or hentairules.org, or hentai-rules.net, the reason is simple, in three words : fucking . domain . campers >_<

Three years ago when I chose “hentairules.net” as a domain, the only already taken “hentairules.***” domain was the .com.
All the “hentai-rules” combos were available.
And today, when I checked : the ONLY still available “hentairules.***” domain was the .us (luckily, that allows a play on words ^^)
And the “hentai-rules.***” domains were ALL taken too.
And taken by what ? By fucking empty keyword-based “portals”.

That’s a simple calculation : if you bulk purchase domains, they cost 7-8$ each, and mere misspelled URLs and search-engine traffic will send enough traffic to these to generate a comfortable bonus to the domain farmer, repaying several times the cost of the domain purchase.

After that, go fucking figure IPV4 was running out of available domains, if sons of a beep campers were automatizing domain reservation >_<

Sorry about the long rant, but I was itching to share my hatred against domain farmers :D

    hentaiUseful Information :
hentaiTo find more works about a subject ("Dragon Ball" for instance), use the search field in the upper-right corner of the page. When I share enough works by a good artist I create redirection pages with links to all his shared works.
hentaiA problem to play videos, or questions like "how to download the zips" or "why does it ask a password, you said there isn't one" ? Read the Help & information page :)
hentaiMost elemental rule : if a download fails once, that can happen : try again ! ;-)
hentaiYou are welcome to share the links to my uploads - I didn't draw the hentai myself anyway - but please, NOT a word-to-word carbon copy, and give my link with it too...

    A domain block of an ISP often is just a DNS filter like the CP filters of Scandinavia and the upcoming one in Germany,if both domains doesnt work,you can try to use an alternative DNS server http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System
    the following DNS servers are free of censorship and free to use:
    * 85.214.73.63 (anonymisierungsdienst.foebud.org)
    * 204.152.184.76 (f.6to4-servers.net, ISC, USA)
    * 2001:4f8:0:2::14 (f.6to4-servers.net, IPv6, ISC)
    * 194.150.168.168 (dns.as250.net; anycast DNS!)
    * 213.73.91.35 (dnscache.berlin.ccc.de)
    * 80.237.196.2
    * 194.95.202.198
    if even changing the dns server doesnt work,you can use anonymising services like tor (the onion router)but big downloads are not recommendet since its really slow(always over 3 proxies)
