Doujinshi/manga classifications have nothing to do with parody/original content. Doujinshi are self-published fan works by circles (a group or individual,) and manga are commercially published works by artists.
Doujinshi can be parody or original work, but manga is almost 100% original work, for obvious reasons. Licensing. That's why artists publish doujinshi under circle names. Parody doujinshi are technically copyright infringement. Thankfully for us, the Japanese don't give a crap about it since it helps spread awareness. I know I find myself watching or reading new series all the time thanks to doujinshi, when I otherwise wouldn't have known they existed.

Confusion never helps, but the topic IS confused and confusing.
You're the one with the true historical definition, however the doujin/manga opposition has been used by nearly everyone for a long time now, to the point it has become a standard.
I think I've written it somewhere, but for convenience, my choice was the original work / parody opposition as it is widely used.

Most of the results so far are about what I thought they should be. I am a bit surprised by Yandere, I actually thought the numbers would be *lower* than they are (psycho girls scare the crap out of me). I didn't think Tomboy would be as high as it is either. Also, I am a bit surprised that you lumped tentacles and guro together, but hey, it's not *my* poll.

Hi, for question "A scenaristic preference ?" I actually wanted to select anything related to incest, but then again no such option available, I think mainly because most incest scenarios are as you say either not good or basically no-scenario to it……. but I guess I'm one of those hoping to come across good incest stories, and never giving up hoping my next read would be a good one..
Anyhow, the options available led me to link incest with them and personal wish is they should come up with more incest stories built on top of the below 'scenarios' :-
- Drama with love
- Netorare
- Real adults

On scenarios I can say that I've deleted some manga from here and elsewhere because I thought the story was just plain bad or lacking in originality. And I find the fact that the majority did not choose 'alive' as an option to be a bit scary*.
*Please mean robots and vampires. The other option is creepy.

Hmm…. The results are about what I expected them to be as well when considering the Hentairules fan base. So no big surprises in the Scenario specific polls.
You shouldn't be surprised about the Yandere response, Zathael. I guess some of us can see all the unconditional love behind the psycho lol.
Anyways, I'm conflicted with the Uncensored poll. The "No" option should read, "No, It's not important, or not very important, but is much appreciated." Cuz I know for myself, my heart doesn't hurt to see my manga censored. I'll read it regardless. But I'd be sure to pick up an uncensored manga should it show up.

I don't mind if the girl is a little kooky. I remember reading some stories a while ago about a girl who is trying to summon a UFO. She was cute. But to me, Yandere stories involve things like:
The girl kills the guy.
The girl kills a female rival.
The girl gets the guy arrested for rape by falsely accusing him.

About censorship, I don't mind if it is part of the original drawing like for ecchi manga such as My Balls. Ecchi manga can use a great power of suggestion sometimes that is really pleasent.

It seems like the polls are taking the percentage from the total voters numbers. Which could be right.. No way for me to know. But it should be taking it from the total votes. Apparently there are more votes than voters so shouldn't the percentage come from that? Futa haters says 51 percent but its only 2100 out of like 5600. Less than 40%.

Just because something is adopted as truth by the ignorant doesn't make it correct. As a collector of RAWs, I find it extremely annoying when people refer to doujinshi as manga and vice versa. I even see the occasional translator that doesn't know the difference between the two, which is quite frankly ridiculous.
I have literally hundreds of original doujinish, and they are by no means Manga simply because most people are too stupid, ignorant, or lazy to discern between the two. There will always be people that refuse to learn, but it would certainly help reverse the trend if people that know better would stop propagating misinformation, especially large website owners such as yourself.
Oh, and Tsundere is clearly the best.

I never really look at ratings. Essentially, I might take a quick peek at reviews or comments to see if the manga is worth my time. It's the artwork that drags me in, a little less cartoony and not too detailed is what I'm after.

Thanks for your daily updates. I found these polls amusing. Sometimes I’m amazed at how often you update your site while updating past doujins when they become uncensored. Definitely the first place I check when I look for hentai. I love hentai with a great story involving love, happy comedy and harems. Works by Yamatogawa are probably my favorite. Scenario and Story line is everything, its what brings the doujin/manga to life. There's nothing worst than a doujin/manga with long ass read only to find the story line is garbage and lacks a good scenario or a doujin/manga that goes straight into fucking without any reason behind their fucking besides "you have big tits let us fuck". All of those DLs that starts off fucking right away generally suck balls for me.

I LOVE Hentai with scenario, especially if it is a long story with happy sex that is a bit extreme(or a lot in case of Type 90)!

I don't think hypocritical is the word your looking for. But most of the time real life is quite hard on people (especially with love and sex) and we do look for what we don't have through other mediums. Maybe we aren't exactly virgins but it is often difficult to find someone whom we can connect with on all or most levels of intimacy even if we are having sex quite often. For some it is the enjoyment of a fantasy that they wish will never come to pass in reality but is very enjoyable in the hentai world for various reasons yet may have a lopsided focal idea.
