Sad news, it’s closing down T_T
23 July 2010This is sad, so sad. It was time to go. To quit. It seems.
Onemanga.com is closing down
If OM guys read this, thank you very much for all those years of reliable and quality service, you made my life better, a little.
Now, what other alternatives would there be ? Mangafox ? Stoptazmo ? :|
Useful Information :
To find more works about a subject ("Dragon Ball" for instance), use the search field in the upper-right corner of the page. When I share enough works by a good artist I create redirection pages with links to all his shared works.
A problem to play videos, or questions like "how to download the zips" or "why does it ask a password, you said there isn't one" ? Read the Help & information page :)
Most elemental rule : if a download fails once, that can happen : try again ! ;-)
You are welcome to share the links to my uploads - I didn't draw the hentai myself anyway - but please, NOT a word-to-word carbon copy, and give my link with it too...

It was inevitable.
Probably, Mangafox is next, because it's gotten pretty big. Toshokan is already removing its manga and will focus on manhwa.
Likely, online readers will only be able to manage if they stay small and make closed, members-only communities of uploaders and readers with a fixed maximum number.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 8:44 am
Sigh it was the best. Dang it man, after mangatoshokan got stripped naked I was hoping OneManga would not get done in but oh man what a loss. Ill willing to bet mangafox is next :/
on July 23rd, 2010 at 8:57 am
Can anyone save the complete onemanga content and share it?
Would be great. So onemangas servers wont be overstrenghtened by to much downloads.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 9:02 am
they linked tons of mangas to 1000manga.com.. I also visit mangareader.net and a spanish one ('cos I'm from Barcelona) Submanga.com
but losing OM is too much
on July 23rd, 2010 at 9:13 am
Just the thought that they will all go down one by one… kinda makes me wanna cry. *sigh*
on July 23rd, 2010 at 9:25 am
Maybe a P2P encrypted software will help. But it's such a shame.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 9:29 am
For some years now, every friday meant a trip to OM to read the new naruto and bleach chapters.
This is so depressing….RIP onemanga

wow, altough they have mobile site.. now it's closed, to bad.. it's my first destination for search newest manga.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 10:10 am
Its horribly depressing and it will be a big shock for international manga since internet was only way of spreading manga overseas from Japan .. Lets see if Viz can translate as fast as fans . On the other hand Piracy shall never die =D
on July 23rd, 2010 at 12:55 pm
Well shit, this is some really bad news D:
on July 23rd, 2010 at 10:57 am
http://www.mangareader.net is still around for now.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 11:02 am
That is bad news, but geez, I thought YOU were closing up shop for a second. Don't scare me like that!
on July 23rd, 2010 at 11:05 am
Just a question: do any of you actually buy manga that you enjoy reading online? Just a thought.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 11:06 am
OM is always my first choice every morning. Never thought this could happen. It's quiet a shocking blow to manga fans.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 11:19 am
Damn i though for a second that you're closing the place. Scared the crap out of me!
on July 23rd, 2010 at 11:24 am
Let's hope they only go after the online readers, and not the scanlators (plus baka and lurk). And I seriously hope they shut down Mangafox, since there's a real company behind the site. And since I never liked Tazmo, narutofan has to go as well.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 11:37 am
Oh man, Onemanga always been my first site to read and checking new manga. And now its gonna closing down
on July 23rd, 2010 at 12:02 pm
http://unixmanga.com
They have a lot of titles Onemanga never had (Battle Angel Alita and Berserk come to mind).
on July 23rd, 2010 at 12:11 pm
to my shame i never heard of OneManga, mangafox was and is the only site i look for mangas, and just for 2 by now, Beelzebub and Nana to Kaoru
IF they would get a publisher in my country and the publisher does the same great job like the fans, scanlators and every ppl around did, yes i would love to support the mangaka…
but sadly its like with every anime i did buy, shit vocal translation and acting, and shitty subtitles, every fansubber make better ones and even for free (i donate the fansub-group if i download an anime of them)
on July 23rd, 2010 at 12:14 pm
vote for edit function ^^
and in the time the publisher needs to make a new dvd with new 4 episodes, a fansub-group publishs 20 new episodes… for what does the publisher get money?
on July 23rd, 2010 at 12:22 pm
you can go here http://manga.bleachexile.com/index.html
on July 23rd, 2010 at 12:26 pm
Not just Onemanga…. MangaToshokan and MangaHelpers are going down too.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 12:46 pm
Sad to see this happening altho I was never a fan of reading manga online, I rather have the material on my HDD in case things like this happen :/
I download it from Mcanime.net but don't think it will help you much as it's all in Spanish :P
on July 23rd, 2010 at 12:53 pm
How about the sister site which OneManga has transfered a lot of its stuff to.
http://www.1000manga.com
on July 23rd, 2010 at 1:08 pm
wth = =
This is a shock :/ It was an awesome manga site …
on July 23rd, 2010 at 1:20 pm
It will close too
on July 23rd, 2010 at 1:25 pm
Thank guys for all your link !
There is also http://www.mangavolume.com
It has not as much manga as the link you gave, but it has some "rare" like Gantz or Fist of the North Star (Kenshiro) and even ecchi one like My balls or Yuria 100 shiki
on July 23rd, 2010 at 1:40 pm
Damn, onemanga.com has always been my one-stop site for stuffs. One of the reason being is their simple yet effective site layout to easily check new updates. Sad day indeed….
on July 23rd, 2010 at 4:19 pm
I know that many countries have the option to actually buy the manga, but here in costa rica (is in central america) it's kind of hard to get some mangas, and of course everything is in english, for me it's not a problem, but for many people it is. It's really sad because mangas like air gear or franken fran probably aren't going to be translated anytime soon, and the translators let you enjoy something that otherwise you'll never see.
Really sad indeed. I guess right know the best thing to do is, make a list of all the ongoing mangas you read at OM and search for the site of the translator, at least that way we can continue those mangas.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 2:32 pm
Onemanga was the first manga site I ever used. Then less than a month ago, I discovered Manga Toshokan and switched to that (they offered more versions by different scanlators, uncompressed images and subscription to a particular manga). Now both sites are closing down. What a damn shame. Time to start using mangaupdates.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 3:14 pm
Come on, we all knew easy access sites would eventually go down. After ACTA is enacted in the participating nations(Which includes Japan and most of the English-native nations), I would suspect even hentai manga will become hard to find. Sure piracy will never die, but they can knock out a huge chunk of the people who view copyright material by taking easy sites down, such as onemanga or streaming sites, or this one… I am included in that chunk. I no nowhere near enough to try and pirate through the advanced means. But, I have been expecting a crackdown on material for years now, so it isn't surprising.
In the end what will happen is the anime/manga movement around the world will shrink. Mainly because only a fraction of what is available will be released in other nations, and many people never even have stuff licensed in their nation. O well, will be time to move to a new hobby.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 3:27 pm
I'd probably try drugs.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 3:31 pm
This is seriously bad isn't it.. Maybe I should go and download all the manga I'm planning to read before they manage to close down all the online reading sites.. Although it is unlikely that they could completely stop the distribution of manga on the net.. I wonder if they will close down the manga download sites as well.. ~_~
If worse comes to worst I guess we could still count on torrents for distribution.. maybe? O_o
on July 23rd, 2010 at 3:46 pm
Yeah honestly when I read this my heart skipped a beat I was like WTF NO HENTAIRULES????? ok, guess Ill just go jump off my apartment now… but yeah the recent sniping of mangatoshokan and onemanga is devastating to me literally. It became a daily routine/ habit to check those sites for manga now I cant even read them anymore! I know ill be able to find updates for the big ones like one piece, naruto, bleach etc, but I'm more concerned about the offhand mangas I loved like wolf guy wolffen crest, dance in the vampire bund etc. Thank god I was a smart guy and decided to list and record every manga I ever liked, completed, was reading or are currently still reading so I WILL find them again, it's only a matter of looking and staying positive that I will find a reader that can withstand this, should have written your manga down folks! still it is very sad to see it go!
on July 23rd, 2010 at 3:50 pm
god damn what you say is true, but I really don't wanna admit it, I mean fuck this will like force me to grow up and shit and I don't wanna do that! Ive been on the manga/anime high for 4 years and to lose it now… damn
on July 23rd, 2010 at 3:57 pm
onemanga was really good, it's a very bad news. also mangahelpers doesn't host anything from a while ago
however for the most famous mangas (i.e. one piece, naruto, bleach…) there is also mangastream.com
on July 23rd, 2010 at 3:57 pm
i'm actually buy them.. but the cencorship in my country is really ass..
on July 23rd, 2010 at 4:47 pm
So Sad :-( ( gros coup au coeur hier matin :-( )
on July 23rd, 2010 at 7:11 pm

on July 23rd, 2010 at 5:12 pm
Thanks =)
on July 23rd, 2010 at 5:36 pm
For those who would be interested, some guys from onemanga.forum made this : http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/ommmm/.
I don't think it will solve anything but you will be able to show how eager you are.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 5:46 pm
id go for 1000 manga.com, its almost as if thesame origin from onemanga.com because of its web style and its as if he's endorsing it with some of his manga go straight to 1000manga.com
on July 23rd, 2010 at 6:53 pm
It is going down too
on July 23rd, 2010 at 6:55 pm
Well, like I said, time to find a new hobby, or learn how to use more advance means of obtaining material. Easy stuff will be gone in the next months though.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 9:26 pm
http://www.mangatoshokan.com/survey/index.php?sid…
It's a survey sent to the publishers about how they're hurting us and their own business. >.< thank ya. =D
on July 23rd, 2010 at 7:28 pm
Everyone should never give up. Continue torrenting manga, create sites, and continue it. As long as we don't stop, it will never end! A battle is lost, but not the war..
on July 23rd, 2010 at 9:30 pm
http://www.mangafox.com/ http://manga.animea.net/ http://www.9panels.com/ pre-loads all the pages in the chapter
http://www.mangaupdates.com/
Not an online reader. It directs you to the scanlators website for downloads. After creating an account one can create a reading list that will be updated whenever a new chapter is out. The reading list is probably my favorite feature, but it is not well known because you need to create an account to see it.
on July 23rd, 2010 at 8:41 pm
Hah! Well said!
on July 23rd, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Can't they just let the online manga sites alone
on July 23rd, 2010 at 10:23 pm
Just two amv's to lighten the mood a little: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfOWz_RJBz8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYCqSLZ3cos
on July 23rd, 2010 at 10:53 pm
(T'inquiètes pas, le scantrad, c'est comme une hydre à 9 têtes. T'en coupes une, une autre repousse direct =D, mais c'est vrai que c'est quand même dommage)
on July 23rd, 2010 at 11:21 pm
bookmarked aswell:)
And such a shame they wan't to remove all licensed manga. they really didn't think this through carefully.
on July 24th, 2010 at 12:03 am
that really suck you know.OM is my one fav site fore reading manga, everytime i have relax time i'll open OM what a #%#$##*(*()*)
on July 24th, 2010 at 12:40 am
hum….1000manga.com ? Different name, same content.
on July 24th, 2010 at 1:35 am
Now mangaupdates is talking about removing which groups are scanlating pieces. That will completely destroy any easy means of finding out who is translating what.
on July 24th, 2010 at 3:23 am
I would not be so sure that ACTA is going to be so successful. Things just get pushed a little further underground, but once the floodgates are opened it is not so easy to close them again. Napster is a distant memory, but I wonder how many mp3s are on your hard drive?
on July 24th, 2010 at 3:54 am
Ok People first FINALLY i know many of you like reading online but those site grow to large and what they did has ilegal even if some consented you know online reading should never existed because look at what's hapanning all RAW manga is disapiring because publishers are crushing down Scanlation, and the problems was atracting to much people to one site. He all should have sticked to Downloading from the Scanlators that way it's easy and second do say "how whold i get to know the Manga ****** if manga fox or onemanga didn't exist well you have other places only for that and plus they tell you whitch scanlator is doing what just look at mangaupdates they do that, but now because of online manga even mangaupdates are about to fall then my friends is IRC for all or Foruns in anime site get used to it
on July 24th, 2010 at 3:56 am
Sorry for bieng so harsh but those sites did a bad thing if you look at it from afar manga is now more dificult to get for all look like we are going 6 years back in time so people start looking around RAW manga is getting really dificult to get so expect lower quality stuff and a really hard time looking for it BYE
on July 24th, 2010 at 4:04 am
O i forgot STOP SAYING MANGA SITES NAMES PEOPLE OR POSTING LINKS TO THEM KEEP THEM CLEAN LESS STUFF APEARING IN GOOGLE TOP 10 THE BETTER Plus google is our enemy because they are helping the Publishers finding stuff (indirectly) it's easy they just put MANGA ONLINE and BAMMMM there are the top 10 manga sites the less you talk about them the better keep them secret the Publishers are not jocking around i know that they can't demolish manga like Comics but they can make your live very dificult, just think what if the publishers of MEGASTORE OR TENMA OR OTHERS start getting highwheel on scanlation hentai is much easier to demolish since there are few big site like hentai rules off course it's more dificult to persue little ones but Hentai rules FAKKU could disapear like that it's always ilegal to scan a book and post it online if the book was free it's one thing and even then there are some people that don't like fans spreading theyr books lol BYE YAAAAHHHHHAAAAA!!!!
on July 24th, 2010 at 5:03 am
you need to ask the admin of OM for that, i just download all the manga i want to read from OM and some of the old good mangas that are nery hard to find on the web, i have download like 3GB in the last 2 days
on July 24th, 2010 at 7:31 am
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT ONEMANGA
on July 24th, 2010 at 7:38 am
Baka Updates says 1000 Manga is closing too. http://www.mangaupdates.com/news.html?id=595
on July 24th, 2010 at 9:49 am
I'm waiting for an announcement on the site before whining
on July 24th, 2010 at 10:49 am
That's just fucking awesome. Too bad I can't get official releases in my country as they DON'T EXIST. I'm not going to buy the piece of shit translation Viz has to offer either. Do it properly of don't do it at all!
I'm going with MangaUpdates for now as they're not hosting actual stuff (this system could work in long term). I'll search for the scanlations myself or go IRC in the future…
on July 24th, 2010 at 11:27 am
its strange even though onemanga is going down i noticed their beta site is still updating don't know if this will keep happening but hopefully they'll keep that one up its a shame this happened onemanga and mangatoshokan were 2 of the sites i used to always go to
on July 24th, 2010 at 8:35 pm
i highly recommend mangatraders.com
they need you to sign up, but then you can download and keep them. they even have mangas of the week, and get new chapters faster than any other site i’ve seen.
on July 25th, 2010 at 7:30 am
it's the sister site of onemanga
on July 25th, 2010 at 7:33 am
if onemanga i closing it will too
on July 25th, 2010 at 7:37 am
you guys should stop posting the sites
on July 25th, 2010 at 3:37 pm
I have been visiting OM almost everyday for the past 4 years.. Its really depressing..
on July 25th, 2010 at 8:20 pm
Unfortunately is likely onemanga will just be the first … They already had some manga taken down and so maybe this has unavoidable.
There is however a new project http://openmanga.org/ which is being developed by the creators of http://mangahelpers.com which aims to provide a legal medium to view manga.
Though it is still being worked on I hope this will offer a solution to all who love manga and also are willing to support the artists.
on July 25th, 2010 at 6:31 pm
Of course I do. I want it to continue being made, don't I?
on July 25th, 2010 at 9:04 pm
Via Con Dios guys. Thanks for the hard work.
on July 26th, 2010 at 12:33 pm
"And for some of you who were wondering, yes, 1000Manga will have its manga removed as well." http://forum.onemanga.com/showpost.php?p=4194520&…

You can still read manga online at http://www.deliciousmanga.com
