Horribly annoying redirection problem >_< – Update #3 – Help appreciated, are you still hit by the problem ?
5 September 2010New UPDATE #4 : almost all third-party code lines have been removed, can you tell me, again ? Thank you so much !
Once again, feedback is appreciated
Hello everyone,
There is something on Hentairules redirecting some of the visitors (not all of them, not me, I can’t make the test myself, damnit, and even the victims of this script aren’t affected all the time) to a website called Yellowpages.com. I don’t speak about a popup advert, but about the website itself disappearing, replaced by some other shit, forcing you to hit your “back” button.
It drives me mad, I don’t manage to find where it comes from, so I guess it must be one of the ads loading a faulty code at times.
I’m progressively making the tests to find it, removing a piece of code, and seeing if I still read redirectin reports, and then moving on to the next piece of code.
This is long and tiresome, but the’re no choice.
So, please, can you help ?
This is SUPER simple : IF you were already previously redirected outside of Hentairules, then please, when you visit Hentairules, stop in this post to report, in a comment, if you’re still being redirected at the present time, – or not.
If you see I mention a new update, that means I moved to testing another piece of code, it will be a chance to report to me, again, in a comment, if you have the problem
-
New UPDATE #4 : almost all third-party code lines have been removed, can you tell me, again ? Thank you so much !
Useful Information :
To find more works about a subject ("Dragon Ball" for instance), use the search field in the upper-right corner of the page. When I share enough works by a good artist I create redirection pages with links to all his shared works.
A problem to play videos, or questions like "how to download the zips" or "why does it ask a password, you said there isn't one" ? Read the Help & information page :)
Most elemental rule : if a download fails once, that can happen : try again ! ;-)
You are welcome to share the links to my uploads - I didn't draw the hentai myself anyway - but please, NOT a word-to-word carbon copy, and give my link with it too...

on September 4th, 2010 at 11:10 am

on September 4th, 2010 at 11:17 am
still redirecting me
on September 4th, 2010 at 11:24 am
OK, I'll try another piece of code. I do them one by one.
on September 4th, 2010 at 11:30 am
Done, I upated the code.
Thanks if you can tell me ^^
on September 4th, 2010 at 11:31 am
There, I updated the codes, maybe this time the code I removed will be that of the culprit !
Thanks if you can test again.
And for memory, I'm making it in big
================ UPDATE 1 ====================
on September 4th, 2010 at 1:13 pm
Code 2 did not remove. I live in hawaii and it knows that… redirects me to honolulu type things.
on September 4th, 2010 at 2:19 pm
I have been being redirected…when I logged on today I was not redirected. Hope that helps.. Cause that was really really annoying…
on September 4th, 2010 at 4:36 pm
I was gettign redirected every day but it seems to have stopped thanks for the fix
on September 4th, 2010 at 4:52 pm
i too was redirected, and was when i got here today
on September 4th, 2010 at 6:19 pm
Still redirected.
on September 4th, 2010 at 6:33 pm
Got redirected about 15 seconds before this post.
on September 4th, 2010 at 6:48 pm
Thanks a lot for the reports, guys, I'm grateful, keep going !
I'll eventually find this fucking code responsible for the redirection problem >_<
================ UPDATE 2 =================
on September 4th, 2010 at 6:49 pm
Dang, so something else is the cause of the problem. Thanks for the report, again, I'll be trying more potential culprits
================ UPDATE 2 =================
on September 4th, 2010 at 6:50 pm
That's the problem, it is highly possible that the redirection scripts takes care not to redirect you more than x times per day.
Thanks for the report nonetheless, even the fact that you were not redirected anymore, despite the fact the bad code is still present, is something interesting to know
============== UPDATE 2 ========
on September 4th, 2010 at 6:50 pm
Er, come again, what are you redirected to ? o_O
on September 4th, 2010 at 7:02 pm
With me, it only redirects me when I first get to the site. Like, I'm on the front page previewing the posts and after everything is done loading, it then redirects me. Little bastard waits for me to find something I want to download and I've got the cursor over the link to go to the full post before it moves though…
Hasn't happened today though.
on September 4th, 2010 at 8:30 pm
I'm still getting redirected. >_> It happens like every other time I'm here just checking the updates. Quite frankly, I'm as pissed as you are.
on September 4th, 2010 at 8:32 pm
Just got me
on September 4th, 2010 at 9:16 pm
Nevermind, it redirected me today as well.
on September 4th, 2010 at 9:21 pm
I'm not getting redireced but the site is slow for me. I'm from the philippines
on September 4th, 2010 at 9:45 pm
if u download a firefox extension called adblock plus and then use the element blocker to block just one script at a time, then you can easily narrow it down without any code changes.
on September 4th, 2010 at 11:19 pm
That is, if I were hit by the problem. I am not.
That is, if the script isn't configured to redirect a visitor only x times.
Etcetera.
Grrrr, stupid problem.
on September 4th, 2010 at 11:22 pm
rrgh! same here! it waits till i find something then redirects. DX
P.S.: Mr. admin of awesome
, have you tried opening site as a normal site (rather than an editor's version) or from another browser or IP then tracking the redirect?
on September 4th, 2010 at 11:25 pm
I don't get redirected, but I do find rather annoying that everyday, the first click I give on any place of any page on this websites opens a popup that Chrome doesn't seem able to block.
It's from the AdultAdWorld provider you use (the code that opens it is on the bottom of the page, as "adultadworldpop_z.js"). I never complained about it before because… hey, I do enjoy your shares extensively and for free, so it would be selfish of me to complain about how you run your website… but since we are on the subject, I just thought to let you know.
on September 5th, 2010 at 12:41 am
I hate adverts too, but without them my blog would be closed, so, Divino, I'm sorry, I can't help you. Well, unless you use adblock, but I guess you already knew about it, come on
on September 5th, 2010 at 12:47 am
Excuse me, by "same here", do you mean you're still redirected ?
About about changing IPs, I tried with american proxies and got nothing, for the little it may mean.
on September 5th, 2010 at 1:03 am
Yeah, I know, and I don't really mind the ads, it's just the popup window that it's a little annoying. But don't worry about it. Considering that I download pretty much every single comic you post (from DepositFiles, since you ask so nicely
), I don't feel I have much right to complain about having to close one window.
on September 5th, 2010 at 1:25 am
Still happening. It appears to occur at least once per day or session. Page loaded then immediately sent to some kind of yellow-pages site.
Good luck hunting. I know codes can get confusing, especially when pulling from 3rd party sources.
on September 5th, 2010 at 3:42 am
redirected me as i was reading the post lol
on September 5th, 2010 at 3:54 am
I get it sometimes, I found that if I let the site partially load then hit stop it keeps it from happening. don't know if that helps but it happens very rarely
on September 5th, 2010 at 4:05 am
I get redirected when the page is about 3/4 done loading.
on September 5th, 2010 at 4:28 am
Sorry dude, I just got redirected. It happens most often to me on the mainpage, but I think I remember it happening occasionally elsewhere, so your thoughts about it being an ad redirect could be right. Good luck fixing the code, and don't worry, I promise to stick around. Thanks for all the great shares!
on September 5th, 2010 at 4:44 am
The redirect happens to me but didn't today. It only happens maybe once every 2 or 3 visits.
on September 5th, 2010 at 4:50 am
Ive been redirected twice.
on September 5th, 2010 at 4:59 am
Redirect happened to me again, just a few minutes ago. If it makes any difference I'm from SE USA, I use firefox, and though it redirected me earlier today I had closed firefox since then so I believe that counts as a new "session". It's weird because when it does it I can't click the back button because it isn't an option, I have to type the URL in the address bar again and go to the front page. Also I usually get an advert on whatever first link a click, and now that I think about it, I can't remember it happening since. Might be a good place to look next if you haven't already.
on September 5th, 2010 at 5:18 am
I just got redirected.
It happened to me a few times already in the past weeks. But it only happened randomly.
sometimes I can stay on ur site but sometimes it got redirected to Yellowpages.com with "insurance" as a search word. LOL XD
maybe you need to renew your insurance policy??
on September 5th, 2010 at 5:28 am
i have the same problem i get redirected to yellow pages not allways but 2 out of five times (or so)
hope yow can fix it
on September 5th, 2010 at 5:36 am
Personally I don't think the redirection is occurring because there's something wrong with your website Oliver. This kind of thing has been happening everywhere in the internet recently. For example, I try to go to a website I googled only to be redirected somewhere else.
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:11 am
I just redirected couple minutes ago. Like you said, it does not happen all the time. However, it is annoying when it happens. I am like what the <censorship> when I am redirected to another website.
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:12 am
FYI, I use IE7.
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:13 am
I used to get redirected all the time, but it's not happening now.
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:13 am
just got redirected.
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:33 am
for me it seems to only redirect me when i use my bookmarks to come to the page. if i google the site and go to it i don't get redirected
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:40 am
If it helps, it started to happen around the time you came back from vacation because i've been getting the yellowpage redirection since then. though for some reason, i'm not being redirected today…
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:49 am
Every time I have been to the site for the past, I dunno week or 2 I have had the redirection issue, which if I remember about it simply means every time I load the main page I hit stop when the page is almost done loading and then I have no problem. However just now when I loaded the page I didn't hit stop and no redirection, yay! However I did just install an ad blocker this afternoon so that might have been what fixed the problem for me.
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:58 am
Happened to me
I noticed it only happens to me on my computer with windows not my MAC
on September 5th, 2010 at 7:05 am
sometimes happens to me, sometimes happens on reload or while I'm just scrolling down the page (I thought I kept accidentally clicking an add while scrolling with my tablet…)
Today it still happened, it redirected before I could even see this website, happens on my laptop+desktop pc, both win7 firefox
on September 5th, 2010 at 7:15 am
just happen to me right now
on September 5th, 2010 at 7:17 am
Still being redirected. From Canada Montreal. Maybe this info helps? Take care Oliver.
on September 5th, 2010 at 7:25 am
12:21 A.M.-September 5th, 2010. Dallas, Texas, USA
Just got it
on September 5th, 2010 at 7:41 am
i've had this problem myself. I don't know why it does it, but it does it randomly. I figured it was some ad or virus you had on the site.
on September 5th, 2010 at 8:10 am
Everything I log in, I'm magically sent to Yellowpages.com.
Everytime!
on September 5th, 2010 at 8:18 am
Still getting redirected.
on September 5th, 2010 at 8:30 am
Still getting redirected
on September 5th, 2010 at 8:41 am
Redirecting :/
on September 5th, 2010 at 8:58 am
Didn't get redirected this time. Will come back and post if it happens though
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:02 am
Still redirecting..
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:20 am
I don't think it's your site either, Oliver…though I just got redirected less than 30 sec ago…
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:21 am
Still redirecting me too.
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:29 am
All this time I thought it was just me.
Still redirecting.
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:44 am
No problems here.
Perhaps one of the adverts is being a fail?
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:59 am
Just happened to me. I've only encountered it on the main page just after the page fully comes up.
on September 5th, 2010 at 10:01 am
instead of checking one at a time, disable half the code. if the problem persists you've narrowed it down by half – can assume theactive half has the problem. if not, you've still narrowed it down by half – can assume the disabled half has the problem. now whichever half youre still testing, disable half of that code and you can narrow it down again. repeat that process and it'll be faster than checking one at a time.
on September 5th, 2010 at 10:21 am
just got it…yspeak or some crap…best of luck on finding it, sir.
on September 5th, 2010 at 10:43 am
I still get the redirects for about 2 or 3 months now.
I just got one again just now. It's a new site, but it's powered by yellowpages… maybe remove any ads that is related to the yellowpages site?
on September 5th, 2010 at 11:09 am
i got redirected just now. good luck finding out which one it is!
on September 5th, 2010 at 11:18 am
Just redirected as well, though I've noticed that at least I can use the back button. Often, if I browse here by bookmark and get redirected, I can't even hit back because my browser history fails and thinks I went straight to yellowpages. Thank you for looking into it, though I don't mind re-redirecting myself for my fix.
on September 5th, 2010 at 11:19 am
I've been redirected many times, nearly every time I come here
on September 5th, 2010 at 11:20 am
Umm 2:15, reroute Yellowpages. I believe you still Got a problem on your hands. Good luck finding it.
on September 5th, 2010 at 11:21 am
Used to send me to the yellowpages, just now sent me to some random get credit now site.
on September 5th, 2010 at 11:35 am

yea i have been redirected right before this post, i also thought it was just me
on September 5th, 2010 at 1:27 pm
I've noticed the redirect a number of times. It seemed to start right around the time you went on vacation. It's harmless thus far (no viruses, malware, etc) but very annoying (like you said). I will report in this thread each time I dl from your site. It is hit-and-miss as well so I figure unless people don't report it for a week or so then suspect it is still around. So far, no redirect today.
on September 5th, 2010 at 1:33 pm
No redirect today, but that's not unusual. Here's the thing though. When you make a code change..you have to wait several days before it is proliferated throughout the servers. It's not like the change is instantaneous for the entire planet. I know, I run an online business and I've seen it take over 72 hours before all of my customers see the website changes. Just an FYI. Another thing, if I am redirected again, I'll see if I can capture the page source to aid in your search.
on September 5th, 2010 at 1:42 pm
nah also redirected
i think its the front page only though
then again could be cookies or something on our end from before, but idk anything bout how websites are put together
on September 5th, 2010 at 1:46 pm
Oliver, first of all, thanks for your effort to fix this.
I just got redirected, and I couldn't use the back button to go beck to your website.
I hope this helps, here's a copy of the extension I got redirected to: http://yellowpages.superpages.com/listings.jsp?ST…
on September 5th, 2010 at 2:49 pm
Got hit with it again today. Sorry, good luck code hunting
on September 5th, 2010 at 2:50 pm
Same, got redirected to ypeek.com or some such.
on September 5th, 2010 at 3:30 pm
I just got Redirected!!!
on September 5th, 2010 at 3:41 pm
I'm using Opera 10.61 and so far I haven't been redirected even once. Lucky me:) My "addblock" ( Opera doesn't need one :P ) was updated 3 months ago. Like some people said – i think it's some ad on your site.
on September 5th, 2010 at 4:19 pm
It happened to me again today. Just now. Though I cant use the back button. Its like I just opened the page
on September 5th, 2010 at 4:47 pm
Still Redirecting on my part too.
I'm using Chrome if that helps.

on September 5th, 2010 at 5:39 pm
Still getting re-directed to some random site. Do you want the site we get re-directed to? And just asking; is it just us thats getting redirected?
Anyways thanks for all your trouble!
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:23 pm
I just got redirected about five minutes ago
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:30 pm
Sunday morning PDT and I AM still being redirected. This seems to be a trend among some advertisers, I have recently been to at least one other site http://www.animepalm.com that is having the same intermittent hi-jacking issues – though to a different location. Hang in there dude.
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:44 pm
Same here. I definitely am getting redirected.
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:46 pm
Just tried it, i'm fine. I'll see if it does it later to be sure.

Amost all third-party code lines have been removed, can you tell me, again ? Thank you so much !

Otherwise, yes, you can report it

on September 5th, 2010 at 6:49 pm
I'm starting to have doubts, since I'm using shared hosting, there might have been a cross-site code injection, but checking this is the next step after I have ruled out everything in my "public" blog code
============ UPDATE 4 ==========
Amost all third-party code lines have been removed, can you tell me, again ? Thank you so much !
on September 5th, 2010 at 6:52 pm
Fortunately, with the wordpress php core, this doesn't work like that, each time a visitor comes, the engines re-creates everything from scratch just for him. WordPress really serves you your own page, so to say
I don't rely on a CDN or on cross-server caches. My blog isn't big like that, lol.
I use a blog cache to reduce the stress put upon my server, but I empty the cache after each code cleanup.
Tsuchida, please, if you feel that I'm wrong about it, who knows, please then, reply and explain it to me with more details

============ UPDATE 4 ==========
Amost all third-party code lines have been removed, can you tell me, again ? Thank you so much !
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:00 pm
Try removing ALL third party code for a bit, and see if it’s still occurring. Just for the fun of it. Doesn’t need to be more than a few hours in theory.
It would really help to know how many people are getting hit by this, and whether they’re only having this problem on your site, or others as well.
Also, It’s probably one of the adverts.. but running noscript seems to make me immune to the problem either way.
Anyhow, It’d help if you quoted whoever you’re responding to, it’s kind of confusing to see 5 of your posts in a row without a reference :P
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
It stopped for a while after the initial email you sent me and I couldn't get the test to work, but yesterday, well before this article, it redirected me not once, but TWICE in a row. I went to the site and got redirected to Yellowpages, hit back and clicked my bookmark once more, and got redirected again. Third time was the charm, thankfully.
on September 5th, 2010 at 9:47 pm
It hasn't happened to me at all today. I've tried 3 times on Firefox and IE both. Loos to me lie you got it. Anyone still getting it, try clearing your cookies for the site.
on September 5th, 2010 at 10:55 pm
it was redirecting as of last night but so far today it hasnt hit me
on September 5th, 2010 at 11:59 pm
Think you nailed it, Oliver. So far, no redirect.
on September 6th, 2010 at 5:38 am
I am currently using an add-on called NoScript and it basically blocks all form of code until you either temporary allow the code to work or fully allow it and adding it to your safe list.
Google it, it'll save you time in the future.
on September 6th, 2010 at 6:32 am
man, i fuckin love you. i never thought much of it with the redirects, i mean its a hassle but i get plenty of great hentai from you for very little hassle. and now you go and fix one minor complaint, and it seems you also stopped the popup windows script . you made my life a level better when i was happy just where i was.
heres to YOU.
on September 6th, 2010 at 8:13 am
No longer being redirected.
on September 10th, 2010 at 4:47 pm
Oliver:
That's what it was: "Yellowpages!"
Still…it kept redirecting me to a Kirkland website and I was like: "This is nuts!" (I don't even have a house or car–so why would I need *insurance*???)
Anyhew…
I can understand where you are coming from: Having your site hijacked after you spend ages getting it up and running…?
Makes you want to drink yourself silly–doesn't it?
Sky
