From what I've concluded… Araragi is a vampire (at least 150 years old), Shinobu is his mistress/wife/half part…
If Araragi or Shinobu get too much blood from each other… they become full powerful vampire, capable of destroying each other (that explains the gory short scene in the anime).

I say homunculus succeeded in relating this delicate love story… The best mate that one could ever have is the greatest threat to one's life as well… for eternity…

Kizumonogatari is actually a prequel, not a sequel. If you didn't read it yet there's a movie version coming soon. (Funny that this doujin is shared right after I read it last night too)

The age/shape-shifting is explained in it, but considering the events at the end of the novel (and those in bakemonogatari) she shouldn't be able to grow and shrink back like this.

Either it's something that happens and is explained in one of the many novels following Bakemonogatari, or it's simply pure fiction from a ero-japanese shinobu-fan.

this is actually Kizumonogatari, not Bakemonogatari, sequel of bakemonogatari. I haven't read it yet, but I'm guessing from the pic, shes adult version Shinobu (past Shinobu)

The V2 is DRASTICALLY different. I think I get the 'kid' thing: that they're playing Mama and Papa, you in third person kinda thing, but anyways, in the V2; the "I left Shinobu behind" line was changed to "In the end, I kept Shinobu here with me." SO yeah, I think they're just playing married couple/child and mocking Shinobu's growth rate (that being, none, for she can't grow, only take back her form)

Thanks Oliver for this one! Oh, and Wikipedia info incoming- I figure it'll give SOME insight as to the body change. Shinobu is a girl who lives in an abandoned building. She appears to be an eight-year-old girl, but she was originally a beautiful vampire who had lived for more than 500 years. (So I'm guessing it's something to do with the percentage of 'Vampire Power' she has between feedings. And I think it's her at the end, just that she burned off a LOT of V power doing the nasty with Araragi. If that'll help.)

Just so you know; it seems like they released a v2 later that day.

"After some debate, we decided to change one of the lines in this release. The verb used in the original Japanese technically could go either way, but judging by what happened, the new line should make more sense."
