Abnormal behaviour ?
Hello everyone,
I have *very* little free time with the end of christmas preparations, the family, and work to do, so there will be just one share today. However, I’d like to ask you something, just in case
You may ( ) know I moved Hentairules to a new server just yesterday.
Since then, I’d had 3 persons reporting that they were back to content-warning hell, having a new content warning popping up with every new page.
– This may be the Opera browser’s curse, a number of Opera users reported me the bug was still present, even though a small useless but not Opera-friendly part of the content-warning code had been removed after a suggestion by SL-Gundam. Frankly, for the Opera users, unless you provide me a perfect code in replacement, starting from the code you can see inside the source code of Hentairules, I cant’ do anything about it.
– Or, if you’re not using Opera, this may be a new bug related to the move to the dedicated server. In this case, please, empty your cache (at least the temp files and all the cookies named “hentairules”), reload the blog, and try again.
And if there REALLY is a bug with that, please, tell me
By the way, if you notice other bugs, stuff behaving weirdly or at least not behaving as it used to do, please, please, take the time to report it in a comment (with details, what is obvious to you could be quite obscure to me), I’ll be most grateful
I am using Opera and I have no content warning showing up on my computer.
Lucky you, i'm still having that damn thing appear every time i open a new page just as oliver said.
I use Firefox, and I’ve had the opposite experiance. I used to get warnings every so often telling me the site tried to open a popup, but firefox blocked it. So far I haven’t had that happen since the move.
I had the Issues with the content-warning since before the server-change.
Like…for two weeks now or so, dunno. Since the Server-change it has been better
I've had a virus hijack my comp pretty seriously after looking at the images linked from your site. The downloaded zips have not caused it. It started about 2-3 weeks ago. Since then I've updated to vista and use iexplore 9, instead of xp and firefox 3.6. I was noticing things wrong with my comp, downloaded malwarebytes which found the problem, and cleared it. I re-virused my computer after coming here twice before I just gave up on the individual pics and only download now.
Are those Opera users using Opera Adblock or the latest version of Opera? I don't have that problem.
i use chrome and i have had that bug since before the server move and still do.
Anon, can you empty your cache and try again ?
Opera 11.01 here, had the warning problem since the popup was added, and the server switching didn't help. Emptying cache does nothing for me.
Opera 11.60, it was fine for a while, then the popup warning came back. Server change didn't help.
It's less annoying than the occasional fleshlight popup ad though.
I've had a problem in Internet Explorer 9 the pop-up warning came back after awhile of it not showing up
<– Opera 11.60
Alternatively if it is really annoying you, you could disable javascript only for hentairules using the "Edit site preferences" in the right mouse button menu.
This will have the side effect that you can no longer vote on polls and possibly small issues with comments. But a good plus is that the fleshlight pop-up will also be gone
I'd rather recommend precise URL blocking (like fleshlight's website), otherwise I don't think the comments would load…
Firefox and Chrome have adblock, you can block precise URLs. I think Opera has a text file that you can edit manually.
RSS seems to be back up and running
Was the RSS broken in the first place ? Since when ?!? O_o
I don't know if this has been discussed before, but the past two trips to Japan I've made (dec '10 and june-aug '11) I haven't been able to access hentairules at all while there. I get an error message to the effect that hentairules is down (I last remember seeing the same message here in the US when the server crashed about a year ago.) The problem wasn't limited to a single net source, as I couldn't access the site from anywhere within the country.
I'm sorry Seven, but the Japanese are banned from visiting my blog. I'd rather avoid trouble with them, for reasons you should understand, I believe
Totally understandable. Ah well, I'll figure something out when i move there. Heaven forbid I actually learn Japanese and read the scores of books I already own.
