Hey everyone :)

It’s nice to see it’s possible to talk here without cursing everyone with a different opinion, these were great reactions in the comments of yesterday’s “please vote” post !

Will you allow me to speak my mind ? Consider this an unordered (<ul> !) list of replies ^^

Most of these replies are horribly pessimistic, but, well, I’d have regretted not writing them. Don’t take it too personally, for too much of it, you could rightfully object that it’s worse in my country, OK ?

Obama and SOPA : yep, he’s clearly bought/sold and not even seeing there’s a problem. Terrible stain. Horrible. But the Republicans would have done just the same in his position, with less conviction, but just the same :(
Choosing between two bad candidates burdened with heavy flaws is a pain in the ass :(

Time for a change : Obama failed, let’s elect somebody from the previous party, even if that party failed too and screwed up just the same. Errr… ^^;;

But at least… the American left isn’t rotten with the obligation to deny science (Evolution ?!? Climatology ?!? And more !) , for heaven’s sake this is putting your whole future into danger !

– « I need a hero » : Or, rly ? “The economy and the debt have gotten worse, blame Obama”. Errr… I know you Americans are much closer to Religion than Europeans like me (I’m usually a bit envious, moral values are a pillar in life lacking most Europeans), but, guys, the Messiah, if he existed, left Earth loooong ago.
You’re all collectively responsible for your lives. If America rules, collectively and individually, high five yourselves. If America is in the pits, collectively and individually, accept your share of the blame and of the burden, don’t go accusing a single person, whoever he is, Blue or Red.
Personally, as I see it, your country wonderfully survived its worse financial crisis since 1929, a crisis caused by your banks, Krugson’s policies, and the successive governments who never saw anything coming. True, the public debt skyrocketed, but it was worth it, that was a highly praisable survival to such a massive crisis, props to you all.

Collective schizophrenia ? Yep. It’s easy to blame just one person, or one corporation. But it’s too simplistic. A funny example, I could have picked others, mind you : Apple. You Americans are super proud of Apple, and you may be legitimately proud of Apple.
Except that… You’re proud to support a company (1) massively generating jobs in Asia (don’t make me laugh with the few American management, sales and designer jobs, they’re a drop of water in the ocean), (2) with your American money (they also have the biggest net-proffit-per-device-selling-price ratio in the phone and tablets industry), and (3) paying exceptionally little taxes as compared to its business figure. The better Apple does, the worse it gets for you.
This is schizophrenia.
You can’t blame one person for being unable to fix a nation’s problems when nearly everyone proudly supports schizophrenia like that. Wake up. Act. Yell. Do your part of the shouting. Take back your lives, your rights, your future, your economy. Try, at least.
(Same deal in Europe, sadly.)

Whoever wins the polls, frankly, America is going downhill, neither Obama nor Romney will address that. Europe is no better, even worse, don’t make me say what I didn’t say.
. First, your public debt. You can’t spend almost two generations living exclusively on credit and never getting back to budget balance, at some time you’ve got to pay the bill and face the money loaners. Is it a shame to admit our countries have gotten used to spending much more than they could spend, and we have no fucking clue on how to reduce enough our spending habits without collapsing ? We’re all potential Greeces.
. Second, your political system is SO locked, unable to evolve, and rotten to the core by money (the Super PACs system was like the surrealist icing on the rotten cake), I don’t see how significant political action could be undertaken.
. Third : how the heck could you, could I, resist China and other countries’ rise ? Their labor is cheaper, their Science is getting stronger and stronger (China now has more Science high level graduates and students than USA), and they don’t expect to live a life in partly lazy comfort. No choice but to deal with it, their growth means our falling behind, they also deserve a spot under the sun, and they don’t cheat more than we do. Damn, I wish there was a way to stop them, but there doesn’t seem to be one.
. Fourth, later on, will come the energy and metals peaks, while global warming will affect negatively the economic context and demographic growth will worsen it all.
The great cool days are behind you, not in front of you, whoever wins these polls.

Once again, I think it’s worse, for most of it, where I live, so don’t think I’m acting all too superior, okay ;)

I hope I won’t generate too much hatred with these remarks, I just thought they had to be said. You’re more than welcome to comment on them, heck, if I’m totally mistaken, given the pessimistic note of it all, I’d be glad to hear about it !

Okay, and now, ladies and gentlement, time to fap :)

I don't know why I write things bound to upset half of the audience of Hentairules.

Maybe because I love the idea to treat you all as adults interested in a variety of topics, and not just in porn ?

Let's say I REALLY think that's worth discussing, and I trust you out there NOT to be braindead wankers, as I've had hundreds of pleasant chances to discover :)

Never try and lay out the Popular vote until at least 95% of all the vote tallies are in…

Currently, and the tallies are still not done:

Romney: 56,655,082 (48.2%)

I actually had a long comment that I didn't to your original detailing the problems with Americans not looking at 3rd party candidates seriously and then complaining about Democrats and Republicans deadlocking each other. And the problems with capitalism and the cold war stigma of the terms socialism and communism, and the influence big money corporations have on politics through lobbying. And all around shitters that corporate greed puts on us as individuals and their disregard for the environment, right/wrong, general human compassion, etc. It was quite long and probably would have enraged people regarding some of my comments on capitalism so I chose this probably wasn't the venue for it. It goes without saying, I agree with the points you've made completely. Too many Americans like to blame the president when they don't even understand how our government works. Not to mention the complexity of economics can't be blamed on one man.

Your right it's the cumulative mess of many decades. One president cant fix the system and mismanagement since are government was founded.

Oliver your right China is the next superpower. Now if good are bad things come out of that history will tell the story.

Every country rises and falls the US is no different. Letm post theses lyrics from a song.

You brought us the a-bomb
in so many ways
endorsed by God and The Book
so god loves a war monger?
hey Mr. Blix: forget Iraq and the time it took
'cause I know just where to look
"could we have a vote please?"

they came with a song – America
they wouldn't stay long – America
we are America
god bless America
god bless America and Capitol Hill
'cause no one else will
so now you are scared
the arabs will kill for their god
like you do for yours?
protect your obesity with your life man
hey – Angry God or Diet Coke?
who cares it's all a joke
"heil homo pecuniae"

saving us yet another time
earning a buck on every dime
sick of America
sick of America
sick of America and Capitol Hill
moving in for the next kill
did you say "I love you"?
a simpler democracy
where every flaw and failure is called a “Right”
a new form of freedom
based on your income
your color, creed
and your choice of gun
but it provides great fun
"Dr. Phil or Operah?"
"Letterman or Leno?"
"Idol or Big Brother?"
[we'll be back after this short break]
it could have been good America
it could have been great America
land of the brave and free
welcoming you and me
but this Brave New World is not as new anymore
each day a new store
each year a new war
while chosen whites rule the poor
in America
oh America
don't you walk out on me
just wait a second now
please hear me out
oh
I'll do my best to love you
oh yes I will
I know you're out there
c'mon
raise your voices
don't let them ruin your reputation
don't let them wreck your constitution
not out of fear
not out of greed
but you had a good run America
your day in the sun America
hello British Empire
hello Roman Empire
hello Soviet
there is a new kid in town
joining the gone down
finding what you found
treading your worn
worn down ground
rise to your former glory
be brave and warm
oh America
if I say I love you
if I say I love you
if I say I love you
dare you love me too?

The irony is that the presidentiall election doesn't matter nearly as much as the senate and house of representative elections when it comes to the issues that people are arguing about.

Economic policy, science funding, public healthcare, & environmental regulation are all handled by the legislative branch.

The only major issue that the president has control over, is the timing of the withdrawl from afghanistan.

And abortion is effectively a non-issue since the courts have already established precedent, & changing our national policy on it would require a constitutional amendment. (requiring 67% of the legislature to agree, which is never going to happen when less than 40% are actually "pro-life")

Interesting read, but might I ask Oliver which country exactly are you from ?

To me it actually looks weird to see almost the whole world in the brink of such a political and economical pitfall.

I’m actually not so well informed regarding politics of any kind because I largely don’t believe in those anymore due to the situation in my country.

I don’t know the current situation of the american election, neither I will pretend to know something about it. I can only hope that the decisions made by our leaders (for all countries) doesn’t drive the world in a pit that can’t be recovered.

Well I agree with a lot of your point and when you posted yesterday I was pleasantly surprised that people didn't immediately start the hate (which kinda changes from my last look at it). on the comparison to apple though the real question isn't if the country is schizophrenic and supports those actions so much as turns a blind eye to the bad parts while idealizing the good. The main problem right now for america long-term is education, there isn't as high effuses on it so we are importing people of high education from other countries. As far as america being on decline well historically countries that keep fighting in wars they can't maintain end up going in decline unless they quickly reverse this. Overall i feel america is safe and will continue to make slow but steady recovery, the real problem is if we dont make changes longterm wise we are super screwed.

Voted Obama and had intended to vote him regardless. Unfortunately my state, being dominantly Rep., went to Romney. So even though my vote gets tallied in the popular vote, the Electoral College, being where it counts, makes me feel like i voted for nothing.

If its any consolation the county I live in almost went Obama. All the surrounding counties were in favor for Romney by 70%+. Mine had Obama losing only by 9%.

Ya know there was a post on HR not to long ago that really pissed me off, it was supporting Obama. I eventually realized I wasn't pissed because it was a foreigner saying vote for bozo or because it was pro Obama. I realized it was the sacrilege of infection my porn site with politics. If you where an American this is where I'd say I don't agree with what you say but I'll fight for your right to say it.

I'm not happy about the results… In Minnesota we had the head bozo and two amendments, one requiring ID at the polls and one and the definition of marriage to constitution as one man and one woman.
Not only did Obama get another 4 years to turn the us into a communist nation but both amendments failed. I cant say I'm happy about today.
I voted yes on both amendments. The first because you have to have an ID to do anything so why the hell would you not need one for vote, Illegals have no right to vote on anything and we don't need any dead people mysteriously voting. I voted yes on the second as well because for me it was about protecting the word marriage. Same sex couples should have every right as everybody else I just wanted to protect the word marriage. They should get civil unions and be done with it, same thing. The other reason I was so adamant about it passion was I got so f'n sick of have the vote no shit shoved down my throat. If someone would have approached my with it I probably would have decked them. I'm a very live at let live person. I'd fight something I agree with if you shoved it in my face enough, with a few exceptions.

I'm not a republican or a democrat anyone who labels themselves as such is ignorant in my mind. Every decision deserves a careful look and I can't stand how one group has this set of beliefs and this group has this other set. I'm sure if the lazy minds of the nation ever kicked on they'd see that hay these guys both suck.

I did vote for Mit, who the hell names their kid Mit. I couldn't stand the guy he's a Mormon after all. Traditional Mormons place women as second class citizens traditionally which is why my mother didn't vote for him. I cant stand religion either for the same reason I hate the Red vs Blue argument lazy freaking minds. I have a faith but its not that god is hidden between the pages of some book or in a building that for some reason is always stuffy and uncomfortable. I felt he wouldn't treat soldiers as second class citizens or set the nation on a communist path. People keep saying change takes time give Obama a chance, 4 years is plenty of time to start fixing Bush's bender. You wont fix very much but the indications would be there certainly not make it worse. I guess as a working competent middle class citizen who takes pride in a hard days work I'm the minority. Everybody wants there free healthcare and all there handouts. Government provided healthcare doesn't work in the the USA are system isn't capable of supporting it. What should have happened is run though of a major reworking of all our restrictions on the healthcare industry.

Its become far to cushy to be unemployed. Here in Minnesota if you living beneath your means you get a free smart phone because you need it. What a bunch of BS and there is even a tagline on the bottom of my bill that says this much is going to those services. Over the past ten years there has been a major influx of unemployed pieces of crap from Chicago and Detroit. They came here because of my city's sympathy for people living beneath their means. Chicago actually advertised that they could come here for that. A coworker who used to live in Chicago said she even say billboards for it. I also had a friend who used to live in their neighborhoods say that in a conversation with an individual of said nature that they come here and knock up fat white chicks so they can live of the social services. Yes most of them are black. I'm so sick of all the coddling.
Fundamentally I also have a problem with this nation saying hay that guy just got his head cut off that looks so crazy. Yet nipples, tits, pussy, and cocks are so offensive that we should burn down a production company's HQ as soon as anything so offensive is flashed for a second on tv. WTF why is that the norm.

The election was so coated in lies it was like sifting through a hay stack to find a needle. Which is why it probably takes a genius level of intelligence to come up with a competent decision. They shouldn't even be allowed to put any of that childish bashing shit in the public eye. Obama said this Romney said that, grow the hell up and quick this bashing nonsense. It's so frustration it gets a guy worked up to the point of exhaustion which is why this probably looks like a jumbled mess of illiteracy the dyslexia doesn't help either or the tiny box I'm typing in.

Why do we have the two biggest idiots to choose from, why cant we every get someone to run who loves this country and isn't in it to sate their ego?

In then end I can say only this and really feel its true.
I don't love my country for what it is,
I love it for what it has been,
for what it could be,
and for what it stands for.

O ya Apple sucks I can't stand that cult of crappy products, any company that calls its employees geniuses can take a flying leap.

Final thoughts…
The true purpose of Democraps and Republican'ts is,
Republicans stand up and shout "Hay I've got a really bad Idea." causing the democrat to just up and should "and I can make it worse."

You need to learn what communism actually REALLY is and not the lingering Cold War bs you were taught about in elementary. Besides that Obama is nowhere near a communist. Communism itself is not a political system and as such DOES NOT threaten US safety and our own personal liberties. It is an economic ideal based on COMMUNITY support. He's not even socialist, though some of his policies lean that way. Look up socialism, it's quite varied in its use and some of its principles can be used for the benefit of individuals, and again it is not a political system but an economic one. The problem is the US has seen regions of unrest who fall under totalitarian governments that call them communist or socialist. And this is where this American fear of it is rooted, if people were educated on such matters they would see it offers them more equality than capitalism ever will. This is not to say capitalism is wholey bad or should be abolished, but people calling universal health coverage a bad thing and believe the market will take care of them are deluded. No person should be denied food, a place to sleep, or medical aid simply because they can't afford it. People claim to care about others and the society and then cry foul against things that are meant to create equality and protect individuals from corporate abuses. Medical care and college tuitions in the US are outrageous, yet the very people trying to make this accessible to all are labeled as socialists or communists. Not only is that untrue of the person it's not even an accurate label.
As for the taxes to pay for such things I find it appalling that your state is taking your money to buy people smart phones. Taxation will always be a factor but we can help pay for these basic services that everyone should have a right to by asking the rich to pay a bit more. People who argue that the rich need those tax cuts to create more jobs are deluded. For one there is no guarantee that that is what they will be used for, for another the free market will always take the path of least resistance…that means jobs outsourced to cheap labor will continue simply because that is where the profit is for these people. If they can't buy ANOTHER vacation home or give themselves an outrageous bonus because of it, well then so be it. At any rate it will be a win win for the majority of people.
Our political system needs far more reform than what they can put in their campaign adds though. We can start by including all the candidates in televised debates instead of this "republicans and Democrats are the only important ones" BS. Making lobbying illegal is another, our represents end up fighting for these people giving them financial backing instead of the people who put them there. These elections are for the public sector but paid for by the private, the government should set a limited budget for these campaigns so every candidate can stand on equal footing, As for this election, if lies make you so angry I don't know why you would want Romney, he was caught flip flopping so many times he was acting like a fish out of water.

Ya I threw the word communism in there a little to hasty, I just feel when you bust your ass you should reap all the rewards that go with it. The view of communism I've had for so long is no mater how hard you work the rest of the system drags you down to their level. You work your ass off and just as you get a reward for it the system taps you on the shoulder and takes half for some jerk off who is to lazy to work. So I was saying Obama is making it so even after I bust my ass to make 35,000 a year he takes half of it and gives it to those to lazy to work. I hated Romney they guy was a scum bag but I felt he was a lesser pos then Obama.
While I agree systems need to be in place to help people there should be far more restrictions as to what you get. They got rid of food stamps at least here because it was embarrassing to pay in food stamps, screw that.
Tax cuts for the Rich, I honestly think it depends on the guy. Some will create more jobs, some will stuff the savings in their mattress and sum will blow it on another boat, whore, or summer home.
I agree with you on the government needing to place restrictions on things like education expense and other things that are suppose to be a service.
From all the stats I've seen Obama and his group of knuckle heads has the least experience of all the presidents in the last so many elections.
I get outraged at the idea of a president subjecting this nation to UN laws. I'm speaking of the Gun ban crap. If it effects the global community sure take a look at it, like nukes, mines and such but not stupid little piddly stuff that England isn't effected by.
I do blame Obama for the embassy attack, even if it wasn't his fault his response was ridiculous.

In truth I just want Bill back. Seriously why are the candidates so horrible. I can be happy at least Hillery isn't running the country.

So pessimist and so true, I fear.
It seems that the whole world is going down slowly, but steadily.
Social issues, Economics issues, Environments issues, Ressources issues … Hard to see which of them will make the world crumble. But when the first of the four aces will failed definitively, the other three will follow in a chain reaction.

By the way, my country is not doing better than all of yours it seems and our voting system is not very good either. The interesting point is that peoples here are complaining about at least 3 different voting systems as far as I know or they describe it, all different than in my country. And you know what ? They are things that makes senses in every systems but none of them are all good. Funny or not Funny ?

But at least I'm glad for reading these posts and comments yesterday and today as well. It was interesting. But for now I think I will just try to Fap n Forget :p

Unfortunately I again agree with Olivier. Without a miracle, that nor Obama nor Rommney are despite claims, USA is facing somewhat ugly change into poor country similar to the mess happening in Africa.

Also, unfortunately in Europe things are getting ready for World War Three as well. I can only thank God for the mature tone of discussion on Olivier's porn blog.

Unfortunately, USA grew … fat and lazy, decades of prosperity and decadence prepared them to face the fate of the Ancient Rome. Bad thing is that fall of USA will trigger a realy sad chain-reaction, and there is no country in the world who is able to keep the sky up when the Atlas falls. China will choke on their rapid progress, since their economy is vurnerable and still attached to USA. Of other big countries, India is rather isolationistic and have plenty of internal problems to last hundreds of years. Russia … thanks to my country's past dealings with USSR I could say that I am not that happy to see that they are growing desperate enough to regain "prestige". European Union is falling apart and Greece is only a beggining. I sincerely regret my country joined EU, too.

All in all, in my predictions, situation is dangerously similar to what was before the start of World War One. Please tell me I'm just delusional.

Hey guys,

I read most of these comments, none of the previous post I'm afraid. There are some good stuff in these lines :)
Anyways, a bunch of you mention China, mostly as being the next superpower (which is obviously true).. Well, in China, it's already the 8th of November, and they're having their elections as well (China's leadership transition takes place during its 18th party congress today)! I sincerely think we should throw them one of the spotlights, if only to see the mascarde they're calling an election , but maybe more importantly to try to get a hint on how they will deal with Human Rights and democracy, and perhaps take a wild guess at their mid-term future when the billion of under-payed workers decide they're fed up with it and start a revolution/Cicil war.

I'm not much of a people person (a silly example: if I could get rid of the whole of population of Africa to create a wildlife land, I would, solving a bunch of everyone's problems as well…) but it's an interesting topic, and since it concerns China, it pretty much conerns all of us, especially those planning to buy a new smart phone ^^

About the American election, I'm not sure it changes much more than the chinese will (it's probably less a farce, and more founded on actuak democracy, but *shrugs*) but at the very least, it brands the whole country as being still democratic, and all friendly n' shit… (but really, what will Obama do that Romney wouldn't? and most of all what CAN he do?…)

Anyways, it's past midnight in France (where things are probably no better… seriously, the world is f*d up and getting more and more f*d up, isn't it??) but I hope I can spark a reaction or two, or at least a few nods and frowns, because the Chinese election is worth a comment…

… Best place ever to have this kind of debate :^)

Oliver, you forget that China is constantly teetering on the edge of social collapse. Labor unrest has increased dramatically in the PRC in the past year. Corruption is so damn rife, a Politburo-level CPC official thought he could get away with killing an affluent foreigner (though, in a show of cowardice, he made his wife do it) because he uncovered some nasty secrets on accident. Wu Jiabao, liberal Zhao Ziyang's protege and the endearing half of the current leadership, has just been exposed as bilking billions off contracts. And yet outgoing other half Hu Jintao, just today, said that transferring to a "western-style political system" is out of the question, even though their current system is beyond redemption.

And let's go into the other potential superpowers a little. Russia is Russia, no need to go into that. India…has a bloodthirsty communist insurgency that has not been suppressed in the last 5 years, a Hindu nationalist party that will possibly control their parliament next year and possibly commit to war with Pakistan, an incredibly corrupt center-left government that is now suppressing the civil rights of its people to maintain control (not unlike the Emergency of 1978). It doesn't help that their neighbor is basically like Mexico to the US: Nigh-anarchic due to poor policy and emboldened imams.

So, best to pin your hopes on the Brazilians. Their situation is still pretty fucked up, but they're trying their damndest to actually improve it.

As much as I agree with the problems of our country (the US) I had a stake in obama winnin as there is less chance of my father health care (medicare) and my job funding (medicaid) are lees likely to go bye bye and with my debts for college and the chances of finding a job being very small I really can't afford tea party politics (i think we really need to see higher taxes across the board to at least start balancing our budget)

while some of what you have said i dont agree with, largely you are indeed correct…

i would like to add that as far as dept. that the US owes to almost everyone else is now some 7-8 trillion now and rising fast… and that was all because of obama’s work.

i am deeply ashamed of my country and its citizens, going back to obama is a good way to bring the country down even faster… the idea that obama could possibly be better than ANY of the other canidates is laughable at best and insanity as it has come to pass, how anyone can think he could possibly be a good choice from all of the choices available… we have doomed ourselves, i only hope that by that time i will be able to laugh at all of the fools when this country gets steamrolled…
i also hope that i will be able to get out of the way when the lightning strikes.

lastly i would like to say to US as a country, you have brought anymore stupidity that happens to this country upon yourselves by your own actions in voting or not voting… in allowing laws to make it possible for the president to have more power than he should among other things… now take your consequences and live with them, i will never forgive you for this because i have to suffer for your idiocy as well.
