Pretty good vanilla, allright :)

Nice news for the vanilla fans, for the people who like to own a manga, be it in paper (haaa, the feeling of touching it !!!) or in digital version, and for those of us who like the idea of supporting financially the hentai artists :

PuniKano is on sale on Fakku Books !

(only one last day as preorders ^^)

Just like the previous release, Renai Sample, the book is a complete tank, vanilla-based, with bits of comedy, fully uncensored, and in high res, with a good translation and fine editing quality.

So, if you like it, well, there you are :)

The digital version will be available for download in the evening of the 24th (3 days of this writing) US time and the print version will come some time after the new year from what's on the site.

Oops, I should have mentioned it, yeah. I was placing myself in the position of a paper manga buyer : one day or two of additional days of delay before shipping means nothing to me. But if you only want a digital version, then you'd wonder why you can't get it RIGHT NOW. Thanks Loplop.

I wouldn't support Jacob, going the way of crunchyroll, hosting anime/manga and then going legit.

Also colluding with Wani by removing their infringing content and sadpanda, then coming out on top by getting a deal to release a product.

Can't wait to pirate it though.

One or two uncensored releases every now and then does not justify hundreds of hmanga being a lot harder to find now or lost.

I must give you kudos for not calling him "Jewcob" like everyone else, tho.

What is happening to me? :|
I'm paying for both porn and Hentai.

Better pay so that a Japanese mangaka can pay his bills and live in marginally better comfort, than pay so that a western starlet buys himself/herself another tropical island, after all (sigh)

That statement would ring true if it wasn't the magazine short selling their mangaka's work. five dollars per page for a magazine and five to ten percent if they make a tank that could be sold for between five to ten dollars . Not to mention that we are talking about hentai which would decrease the sales compared to manga magazines due to the adult content. Being a hentai artist isn't worth it unless you like that or you plan on crossing over into mainstream manga like a number of hentai artists have done.

I can't deal with supporting so called movie stars who make millions and couldn't act their way out of a wet paper bag or the horrible storylines that have more holes in it that a factory that makes screen doors. I wait till the movies are on HBO or if it is summer at the drive in.

… what ?!?

Hentai doesn't make manga sales fall, they're published in specialized outlets, for adults, not in all-ages volumes.

The way earnings are shared between creators and everyone bringing that to the public is another issue, though.
I have no *valid* (as in : undeniably right and trustworthy beyond any refutations) highlights on this, but from what I read in the emails I have gotten from a Japanese company whose name I cannot disclose, the publishers feel they're also killing themselves doing their job, investing all their energy into helping the creators, desperately struggling against hostile change of times, providing ideas, suggestions, helping the work in any possible way, and then there are all the costs, the promotion and stuff like that.
I still can't judge, but… hey, the system works, as it is, eh ?

Also, apparently, every new western sale is reflected in the mangaka's earnings. Here, it's not that I can't disclose, it's that I just don't know more than that. So, my "marginally" still stands, it's something, even a little bit, it's better than nothing.

« Being a [ insert any bad-to-average job ] isn't worth it unless [ insert any dream scenario of social promotion » : dude.
I've seen my unfair share of ups and downs in my life, and yet I consider myself a privileged one. Life isn't about succeeding and earning lots of money, that's only for the happy few. Life is about having shit thrown up your face many times. And since you have no backup life, you have no choice but to stand up and deal with it like an adult, good times or bad times you just deal with your shit doing your best even if it sucks and you're poor. If you fall, what can you do, stay to the ground and cry ? How long ? In the end, you're still standing and doing what you can. And in the end, you lose that game and you die. So what ?
So, sure, it may be sucky to be a porn artist, but if a small gesture from us western customers brings even a little bit of value added for them, it's – repeating myself – better than nothing. The argument "they're earning shit so I'm not supporting the system" is invalid.

To be honest it feels like most creators, no matter what content, is probably going to earn little to nothing until they hit it big time. I'm comfortable in supporting what I like So I'm buying it. My initial was how strange I found it that just a few months back I couldn't buy Hentai even if I wanted since I was locked out, regional IP lock but now I can buy my adult entertainment.

Okay, here is what I meant and I am sorry for the confusion. first, due to the fact that hentai is for adults and can only be sold to adults, I would think that can possibly put a dent in the sales compared to something more suited for kids or rated for everyone.

Two is that I have actually bought tanks and imported them. I never said I didn't, when I have the money to spend I spend. I admit I haven't given them the support that I have in the past but I still buy tanks when I can.

Three, many manga-ka have started out as a hobby, take Akira toriyama or any number of manga-ka that liked drawing or writing before they had jobs making manga. Some do it to move up like Yasuomi Umetsu. He said it himself an interview, he did start making hentai first then moved into less adult anime or maybe Shouji Sato who does hentai and manga. I don't know if you know this but Mr. Sato works in the Digital Accel works hentai group as Inazuma and he also helped to create Highschool of the dead. so yeah, some hentai artists do go into non-hentai manga and anime.

Four, is it worth it, that was my opinion. With digital making things easier, I would think that one could set up a website and use that route rather than going through a magazine company. Or you can self-publish if you have the money and sell your works without the help of a magazine at cons and such too. That was what I meant and i am sorry for not making it clearer.

I do agree that there are mangaka that start off as hentai artists until they are able to get a work that has more appeal mainstream. An example is Saeki Shun, formerly known as Tosh the author of Harem Time and Menkui!…Great artist and has gone clean with his Shokugeki no Shouma series. I miss his hentai though :( …btw…does anyone know if it's safe to order borderline ecchi manga from amazon.jp to the US? I want to buy the entire Yomeiro Choice series from Amazon, but don't know if it'll get through customs due to it's contents. It's straight from Amazon facility.

I've imported porn before just fine.

Having said that, Amazon doesn't ship porn outside Japan, so it may not even ship it to you. I'm not sure about ecchi manga…

Thnx. The story is labeled as borderline ecchi manga, not hentai. I don't want it to be considered illegal due to the main characters young daughters showing some nudity(nipples) in a few chapters. Is it true that Amazon only ships manga country side in Japan? no imports?

They don't ship porn. I don't know if they would consider that porn.

Ah, I think you're fucked, then, the only option is to use a VPN. The cheapest one of quality would be CyberGhost with the Snowden edition, 10 € for a whole year, and you can choose a variety of countries from which to pretend you belong, https://store.cyberghostvpn.com/848/?affiliate=27
Or, I didn't test it, but it's free – just please just DON'T use it for banking or important information, 100% free is very fishy in my eyes – there is also http://hola.org/
