A question about charging cradles for the 3DS XL, please, would someone know ?

Here’s an absolutely non-hentai post, sorry ^^
Long story short, my kids have damaged so hard the charging port on their 3DS XL, at home, that the thing won’t charge anymore. Both the male plug and the female plug were badly enlarged, torn, damaged, the male plug can’t even hold in place in the female plug, it will fall off.

I know this sounds horrible, but to make it a hentai comparison, that looked like a vagina in a John K Peta manga 
I have two solutions:
– (1) buy a new charger component (5-10€) and weld it on my 3DS. Me: nope. I can do welding, but not on something that will cost me over 150€ if I screw up.
– (2) buy a charging cradle for the 3DS. It’s a thing on which you place the 3DS, and it connects itself to the copper plates on each side of the female charging plug.
That’s what I’m after, a charging cradle.
However, call it bad luck, in my country (France) there aren’t online anymore spare charging cradles for the 3DS XL, unless I’m ready to pay between 40 and 75€ from resellers specialized in items whose stocks have ran out.
This is quite frustrating, in comparison, I see charging cradles for the previous model (3DS) or following model (New 3DS XL) that hardly cost 10€ >_<
So, I really wonder, would someone know if those cradles (from the ealier or later gens) are compatible with the 3DS XL ?
Honestly, I just can’t find the information, this is most frustrating.
… but maybe YOU know ?
… or maybe YOU would be able to test with your friends if, by incredible chance, there’s around you charging cradles ?
I’m asking just in case, thanks if you can help with some information regarding compatibility

I don't think the previous charging cradles would work because of the size differences between the DSes. The New and XL models are much bigger than the first generation. You might be best dropping the 10 Euros, as rough as it is.

It doesn't look like the cradles are compatible, probably by design, so they can sell more. I did find a webpage for modifying a 3DS to fit a 3DS-XL, should you be so inclined. I found several cradles for sale in the U.S. for around $10 on ebay and Amazon, so shipping is probably your biggest problem. The dollar and the euro are pretty close to 1-to-1 right now, so 10€ plus shipping.

Good thing: the electrical part that charges the console is the same, it's the dimensions of the thing that pose a problem.
Bad thing: I don't have the equipment to do it cleanly, not even the things to cut plastic correctly. I could do it in a super dirty way, and then place it on a 45 degrees inclined wooden support frame, at worst, though…

I you just wanted to buy another charger then there is one that I own and use that should be for sale where you are and if not it is definitely is here in the UK. That has three cable ports that split from the initial base charger and work on the DS, 2DS, 3DS and 3DSXL. This one (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-charging-Charger-lead-cable-for-Nintendo-3DS-DSi-DSi-XL-DS-Lite-2-in-1-/270891160482) is the usb version but I do know that it comes in a wall charger three split compatibility, you just have to keep looking for it because I know I have one. Well I hope that helps and if it doesn't then just ignore this message.

Remember the John K Peta reference ? Chargers will fall off once inserted, and even if you forcibly force it to stay inside, it won't touch properly the connectors.
Well if France's online sellers don't have it on stock you should check other countries. Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de would be good places to start, they often offer free shipping.

While I unfortunately don't have any advice, the same thing happened to my 3DS XL. While it was charging, I tripped over the cable, and pulled hard enough that my 3DS fell to the floor, and now the female plug is torn open. Now, I have to push the charger in very tightly, and prop it up so it doesn't fall out. I wonder how much repairing it costs…
That's one of the problems of today's consumerist society, repairing costs more than replacing.
Techies will charge you a two hours fee at 33€ per hour plus an initial taking the intem start price, while on the other hand you'll find a cheap-ass replacement item on Amazon, who will send it to you without any shipping fees even if they lose money on the deal and are killing smaller and more legitimate businesses in the process.

Je n'ai pas le matériel et j'ai depuis trouvé une pièce de remplacement, mais au pire, j'aurais pris la première partie du guide, massacré le support plastique à la scie à bois, et placé le tout sur un plan incliné à 45 degrés pour que ça tienne en place.
Sauvé, je n'aurai pas à commettre ce massacre :o
