Also from the look of it only assigning a month at a time might not be enough of a distraction. How about a year at a time?
Not socializing necessarily, but free discussion between helpers. You may wish to rant because I'm slave driving you (I don't IP-ban for that, lol). Or to throw suggestions to help the others do things fast.
*sigh* Though the "mighty lord" (at the very least) might catch ironic contradiction… but alas.

I think a year is a bit much, a half a year is probably more manageable for most people.

First, guys, do a month. You'll see how much time it means, how well you do it, and taking a day's break after doing it may allow you to rethink ways to do it faster. I don't want to make you waste your time on under-productive methods, you know, your time's precious ^^
Besides, a guy had helped me during august but he had to stop, and fixing a month of 2010 took him 1 hour, fixing another month took him 3 hours. If it's the same for you too, doing a full year would be crazy, in the end you'd be so tired you'd make several accidental mistakes, drunk with fatigue.
I wasn't making that as a suggestion for everyone, it was more of a comment for me (besides being a smartass I'm also selfish…).

I agree with 1 month at a time. Its easier for the manager (Oliver) to follow what has been done and what remain to be done.
I think I might even have problem with the first month. I'm still trying to figure out the remote upload thingy. Which host should I use?

You decide which host, Oliver sent a list of trusted hosts and a list of excluded hosts.
Remote upload is similar for most host, find out where the option is for the host and give it the URL to the file. If there is an option for an ID/Password, leave it blank, I guess its used to fetch a file from a FTP, etc.
Will uploading do? Oliver use Depositfile, wuload and filesonic right? Then Uploading will do?

1 month is enough until the helpers are familiar with the system. Then see if we can increase the amount depending on the availability of each helper. By the way, I have plenty of time, so for me it is easy (:

Hey Oliver, I was wondering, is there a way to get RSS feeds for the comments of a whole month? I can only seem to get RSS feeds for each post themselves and not the whole entire month collectively.
I figure it'd be easier to keep track of dead links this way. I mean, sure I'd manually check every so often but if people can comment to report if the links are dead and it updates on our RSS feeds it'd be a lot quicker.

Yeah, but I don't think wordpress can handle that. One RSS feed corresponds to one item (single post, single post's comments, home page seen as a changing root/index.php), never a collection of them.
And I never investigated the addition of a "report dead links button", because anyway I wouldn't have had time to fix it on the fly…

To be honest, I`m just using a greasemonkey script that checks for dead/alive links for me called "The Cavern Links Checker Test". If it says it is alive, I believe it.

I finally finish my month, it took almost 6 hours. Still that was my first time interact with wordpress. Hopefully I get faster next time.

ok I was editing a post, suddenly the "edit page" turn into html code and not the visual one that i'm using. It didn't afftect the post itself but i couldn't continue to edit. Please teach me.
The editor's javascript lost its marbles, usually in such a case I close the page and start from scratch, it's faster than losing time and trying to bring it back to working order
Switching back to the "visual" tab on the top right of the editor box doesn't fix it? It did for me the one time it happened.
When it happens, no choice but to click to save, close the tab and reopen it

Is it just me or does Filesonic have a really shitty remote upload speed? Took like 10 minutes to do a really small file.
If you really want to do that, I won't stop you, replacing links, it's your own time and your own links, but I think it may not be worth it – as you like.
For remote upload, it will depend on local circumstances, you know, as all websites, usually it works, sometimes not very much, sometimes not at all ^^
