Maka Maka means “friendship” (or so it is written), and the two heroines are indeed true friends, simple human girls, both strong and fragile, with weaknesses, boyfriend problems (guys, you could learn some mistakes not do do!), great qualities, lacking trust in themselves… Those two characters have an almost never-seen-before human touch, and I do hope they will touch your reader’s heart too (and the drawings are awesome BTW)
The drawings are very unusual and nice. The story is well-written, never too heavy, and has an astoundingly feminine touch, that is soooo refreshing and so much more subtile, for the best, than the usual rough and speedy hentai manga… (I even had the impression I could *feel* the way women feel for a moment.)

i know this manga from a time ago, my sister has an untraslated copy of vol. 1, and indeed is diferent to any hentai manga that i was seen before, i think that is more ecchi than hentai but the story and the drawnings are top noch.

Those two look rather familiar. I think there’s a video on youtube somewhere with the two of them, or at least characters who look very similar. Roommates at a school, with another girl having a crush on one of the two roommates, but her crush thinks that she’s putting the moves on the other roommate, whom she herself rather fancies. Of course, folks make a big deal about the supposed sister references the two make, thereby ignoring that the term sister can be used as a form of politeness in Japanese as opposed to it being an indication that the two are related. Can’t for the life of me recall what the title was though. Think it was something with prince in it, have tried looking, but no dice.
Looks like I’m an idiot. I was thinking of Candy Boy, and that has zilch to do with this story. Just two of the characters look similar, but that’s about it. me bad.

Maybe it's a few years too late, but Torajiro kishi also made another manga titled "Colorful". It has been made into 16 episodes anime series. It's hilarious if I must say (the anime at least). After few glimpse of some of the page, the manga looks promising.. Unfortunately it's not translated yet [although it's not really necessary].

I call it the 'Standards of Manga' which like the 'Standards of Literature' ensures a repetition of desirable patters within the shape and form of a story, a lot of characters follow similar appearance in general shape & form (just look at a dozen different lolita types & you see it) however, this has more to do with how the artist is influenced in their doujinshi phase more than any kind of irrefutable rote system within the teaching methods.
DJ for example used to read a lot of Garfield and Peanuts as a kid & it is reflected in his ham-fisted doodles (I think looking at some of his 'comedy' panels, Hiroe Rei used to read Peanuts too!).
