Three various things :)
Let’s call it my random stuff post of the day, shall we ?
– First, I shamefully forgot to add something Vaizard asked me to ask, when I posted the final version of Taihen Yoku Dekishimata. Vaizard was the editor and the decensorer, and it’s no mere work he made, decensoring, chosing how to write dialogues, chosing the font, size, the effects, cleaning SFXes (yep, he did that, he’s the man I tell you !), and more.
And the question I had to ask : if you have constructive criticism, please post it You may make it in the Taihen post, or on Vaizard’s blog of course !
– Second, I’d like your help identifying the origin of a song. This is a Youtube remix of two memorable stage appearances of Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, singing Under Pressure. This song is a cooperative work between Queen and Freddie Mercury, but sadly the two never played it together. This remix sort of fixes this regrettable state of events. With talent.
But the version of Under Pressure in this video is unknown to me, this is unbearable ! >_<
This isn’t the usual version present in Hot Space. Nor the version present in Wembley ’86 or in Live Magic. I couldn’t find from where it comes.
So, I would have two questions, pretty please with sugar on top…
-> would you know where that song comes from ?
-> would you manage to save the youtube version to your disk and share it ? Please ? I tried to download it using the usual procedure (a firefox plugin), but the file it saved had crappy audio in comparison to youtube’s version T_T
– Third and final remark : if, for some reason, hentairules.net stopped working (shit happens, like yesterday), in the worst case, there is hentairules.us !
This is my test and backup version for Hentairules. I overwrite it with .net’s shares once or twice a month, but when .net goes offline, I use it instead
I think the Under Pressure link is probably from the Freddie Mercury memorial concert, afaik Bowie sang at that one and they probably added Freddies voice by way of playback.
There is a studio recorded version of this version of the song on the Queen Greatest Hits III.
Working on downloading and uploading that clip. I’ll post it in a later comment.
Here comes the file I managed to rip from Youtube, it sounds the same to me but I have a slight hearing impairment and it’s 3:30am here
http://depositfiles.com/files/bnkm83w28
If you want I can mail you the Mp3 from the ueen Greatst Hits III.
Thanks for the information.
God that remix was terrible. I don't even think the audio was from live shows, just the video. Why not put your talents to good use and mashup two live performances to create a "live" version where they are both singing. The remix elements of that vid were unbearable!
Here's a question for you since you seem to be a queen fan… What live album has the version of Somebody to Love from where a good majority of the song is sung by the audience with Freddie prompting them and encouraging the crowd to get louder? I heard it once, but can't find it anywhere.
To each his own tastes, I liked that one.
I think you're referring to the single sung with George Michael, in 1992
No it wasn't the George Michael one. I've heard that one. It's good, but that's not it.
Hey, here's another Question. Do you know what happened to the site Rupty's JAV? It went offline about a month ago. Did he set up shop somewhere else or communicate any future plans to you? I know you and him were friendly, so perhaps you know.
Or any other JAV suggestions? (the weirder, the better!)
Keep up the good work!
Excellent, it means I have yet to find more quality works by Queen, even if I don't have it yet, it's promising for the future !
Well, if you find it, some day, please, share the URL ^_^
"To each his own tastes"
Hey, that reminds me of something! What could it be…
"and don’t go bugging me with “please respect my tastes” cliché replies"
Oh, yeah, this is it.
o/
Tolerance rocks so much more when it's about other people not saying your tastes are crap, rather than when it's about you not saying other people's tastes are crap, isn't it?
Apart from that, well, didn't like this remix either, but thanks much for sharing the good links. Couldn't use Mozilla without that SmoothWheel stuff now.
I think the version of Under Pressure that was used was just a weird mashup of the Original, not a true version of the song. So whoever made the video mixed the verses and stuff up, I think.
Frankly, I doubt it was possible to alter the bass guitar like that, I have the impression it was genuinely played with that unusual tune…
I got that one. How do i get it to you?
Alternatively, look for it on Greatest Hits III (1999). That one also has Barcelona with Montserrat Caballé
A Greatest Hits volume 3 ?
Lol, I didn't know there was one, I usually stay away from "best of" compilations when I think I already have everything by an artist, but it seems this time I was mistaken !
OK, it's time to make a web search :3
I found a torrent of all queen discography somewhere, and being the big fan i am, i just downloaded all of them. Some of them have songs i have never heard, and some songs are just in one album.
If you want more quality on a youtube audio add &fmt=18 to the URL
What I use to get videos off of Youtube is keepvid.com, you just paste the url in the text box near the top of the screen and it will give you a set of download links for that movie. The best one I saw for that one is in mp4 format, High Quality – 480×360. I am not a paying member of any of the file services, and I am a little to laze to download, guess passwords to accounts, and upload, but this way you can pick your format.
If you want to save only the audio as MP3 and not a video file you can youse the "Free YouTube to MP3 Converter". It's totally free and easy to use. Get it here (multilanguage):
http://www.chip.de/downloads/Free-YouTube-to-MP3-…
or just google it. You can even select the audio quality of the file.
yo oliver, don't know if you already got it, but i uploaded it for you: http://depositfiles.com/files/zceowobae
its only the mp3 if you want the vid too, just tell me again
Hey Oliver!
Do you know the reason why hentairules had problems to get started these days?
I mean a webpage doesn't stop working out of the blue.
Hope you can fix that (these) problem(s).
Two reasons.
The biggest offline time has been an electrical problem (http://travaux.ovh.net/?do=details&id=4072 ), the second more recent problem has been a DNS change, so during a short time hentairules must have been offline or may have returned a "connexion refused" if your computer was still holding in cache the previous DNS record.
Now, you didn't reply to my question, is your avatar from Kangou Banchou ?
FYI Freddy Mercury was the lead singer of Queen, not someone seperate from the band. The original recording of "Under Pressure" was a collab with David Bowie and Queen.
It’s from the Queen Platinum Edition, which is essentially Greatest Hits 1, 2, and 3. Oddly enough, it’s the version I’m more familiar with since it was in the rotation of one of my earlier “big ol’ batch of rock” downloads.
For downloading YouTube videos I use Internet Download Manager (5.18 b8). When a video starts playing, this program grabs the link to the video and on the upper right corner of the video a small "download" button appears. And it seems it can download any video playing on your browser screen, even that video advertisement banners. It also have other useful features like site grubber, download last played video or downloading everything on the page.
Umm – I know dick about Queen aside from the fact that they did all the music in 'Highlander' – as for Bowie; Both Cherie Curie (the Runaways) & Louise Post (Veruca Salt) were big fans & he creeped the frick out of me in the movie: 'Labyrinth'!
(People keep saying 'it was the Pants, right?' but it was more the Pat Benatar hair-do & the eyeliner!)
I have heard the song 'Under Pressure' on the radio before?
(This comment was as useful as a revolving door on the ISS Freedom, wasn't it.)
Forget I said anything – I'll shut up.
