I keep on searching for more uncensored works by Saigado, and I’ve found the uncensored version of Yuri And Friends Color volume 1.
(you may read the still censored version, if you like).

Good news ? Not entirely :-/
While my current censored version has, overall, good picture quality, the decensored version I found has horrible color balance, I don’t know if it was printed with bad ink, scanned with a problematic machine, or butchered by a daltonian before saving the pictures.

So here’s what I’d like to ask : are you capable of saving this uncensored version, would you manage to fix the pictures with any adjustment filter you need to make them look good, as good as the censored version ?
I tried, neither with the Gimp nor with photoshop did I manage to produce good results :-/

If you want to give it a try, you can download the uncensored version here or there.
To make yourself an idea, compare the two pictures :

Thanks a lot if you can help :)
(you can post the mediafire/megaupload/rapidshare/whatever link to your work in the comments, if you like. It will end up in my moderation queue most likely, but I check the comments several times per day)

The colors are burnt. They're just not there anymore.
Not much you can do about it.

i tried messing with a couple selective colors followed by a curve. I got a close result.

ah right, i also did a saturation, setting it on darken to help the colors stay on the skin.

The skin is a neutral color mostly, and you gotta bump up the black in the yellow selective color.

As Zan said, you won't be able to do much with these uncensored images. I made a little test just to show why:

On the top is the original, censored image, the standard you are aiming for. I made the best effort to try to make the uncensored look similar. The second image is what I was able to get. Because of the burnt colors, and the JPEG compression artifacts, not only is extremely hard to get the colors as far as they need, but some very nasty stripping artifacts start to show up.

Since the censor bars don't completely obscure the image, just for kicks I tried to remove the censoring on that picture by color correcting just the censored area. In my opinion looks much better (I could have done a better job with the margins around the censor bars, it was just to demonstrate the difference). The de-censoring work you got is fine in itself, but the artist probably worked on a bad original file.

that's why i didn't post mine. So horrendously LQ I'd be a little embarrassed. o.o"

Yours came a lot closer to mine though. But it looks like someone put tape on her clit with your image XD!!! *sticky ftw rofl*

Lol, yeah, it looks a little like a tape. :)

I was just demonstrating that some details can be restored from the censored areas without the need for redrawing everything from scratch. If I were to do a proper decensoring, I would paint over the edges of the censored areas to hide those problems, after the color adjustments.

Shouldn't be too hard.

I don't see what the big problem is with the uncensored images. They look faded, yes, but everything's still recognizable and you can fap to it without issue.

I agree with the posters above. It’s really not worth it to try to clean up the images, due to how burnt the colors are.

Attempts to add color back in through manipulation just enhances the artifacting present in the image (the quality isn’t that good in the first place), so the result isn’t quite so pretty, although it is cleanable somewhat.

I did the first 7 pages (well, 6, I obviously did not include page 2, the b&w intro page), as well as adding side-by-side comparison files so you can see the result: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4MW0ZUZE

I did try to clean up the artefacting somewhat, but not as much as I could, just a cursory attempt. That said, given the effort put in just to do even that much, and on six pages only, I’d really just recommend you decensor the censored images rather than even bother trying to clean up your burnt-out decensored images.

surelly it's a silly question but…if you really want to achieve the same color, why not copypaste the decensored part onto the censored one and fix the result??it would be lots easier…

Hmmm…I haven’t tried, but it looks like just duplicating the layer (a few times) at around <50% Opacity, in MULTIPLY mode should enrich the color. Then mess with the levels a bit on the last layer you make. I'll try it with the example image you have up.

And yes. I know I'm very late.
