Now that my team has proudly quit the soccer World Cup under general applause to my country’s greatest glory, I can resume trying to ignore the soccer World Cup.

And about the World Cup, in case you haven’t seen it yet, don’t miss it, Youtube introduced a vuvuzela button ! :D From what I could observe, every video with an optional HD version contains that button. It won’t work on embedded players, only on vids read from their website itself.

An example, search for the football button on this video ;)

Update : so far, the very worst I could find was to click the button at 4 minutes ’35 in that video. It felt like a heinous crime :D

I wonder if the Americans wouldn’t hate some Southern African customs for some unknown reason ? Certainly rampant racism.

I know this is futile, trivial and childish, but I’ve already wasted several hours slaughtering some awesome vids with random vuvuzela noise ^^;;

Unless I’m missing the sarcasm, I’ll take a shot at your question.

We hate it because it is so !@!@ing loud and annoying. Being loud and annoying for hours on end is a custom? They can keep it.

Seriously though, that button is awesome with the right techno songs.

The sheer impossibility makes me wish it would happen. I would laugh my self to death… if my brazilian friends don't kill me first.

Are all French rude, stuck-up assholes? No? Well, not all Americans are racist. In fact, we the most racially diverse country in the world. MUCH more so than France.

France. ;)

Anyway, it was a good thing to happen. Clichy, Diaby and Sagna can take some rest before pre-season starts for Arsenal (don't really care much about Gallas though lol).

It's the soccer ball on the vid window. It sounds just like a horde of vuvuzelas, drowning out everything else

Well in France's case at least they tried in each game but let off-the-field issues affect them. In Italy's case they were just meh. And they only started playing properly against Slovakia in the 80th minute lol

The Italians (Spaghettis)
where totally calm in our city this night (the others who came on were very quiet too – which made me confused a bit – thinkin they were too surprised, to celebrate it within the week?)
I think think?believe the ITS were banging it in their wive/gfs out (the frustration) – hehe maybe them like soccer now… suddenly :)

what the heck I have to say..
I hate VuvuSela[Uwe-Seeler]as
and this SPORT is called SOCCER in UK/USA-land man. Right?
The other thing is (which I consider not a Sport – you are more like a Soperheroe stuffed with protectors) has nothing (well almost nothing) to do with feet – or?
Darn, these great socceroos (AUSIES) lost so high (4:0) against good ole GermMoney (who will win again – or again almost :)

Vuvuselas make deaf if watched/spectatoed more than three games in half of a Year
sais Doc Snyder(00-Schneider)
there will be a lot less Italian/French coming home deaf than Brazilians or Netherlandians(Dutch)
They ought to to be thankful
SA bullshit the games with their kind of atmosphere – even the refrees need a 'voluming up' whistles? – to be audible for the players! I'd prefer waving Flags and LaOla!!!! (and for the Girls MakeUp and wicks)

Anyhow, it won't matter if they are all deaf in a year or two – for me – as I can turn the Telly-volume down.
bB (Germany will win) – again

Hate to be troll, but the French team was a disgrace. They showed no pride at all, refusing to practice..

If Zidane was still on the team, he would have head-butted every last one of them till they begged for forgiveness.

I’m sorry if I overreacted. It’s just that the actions of George W. Bush and his government, as well as many U.S. citizens, made me ashamed of my country. And, in the eyes of many in the rest of the world, we “were all tarred with the same brush.” In addition to the damage done to the rest of the world, they took away many of our basic freedoms, distorted or ignored our legal system, and allowed large corporations and financial companies to run rampant, free of regulatory restraint, nearly creating another Great Depression, here and abroad, leaving tens of millions of my countrymen (including me) jobless, many permanently. In fact, they did more damage to this country than any other enemy, foreign or domestic, in the two and one-quarter centuries of our existence.
