I wonder why so many manga have white, or at least partially white girls in them. Do they have white fetishes like white folk have asian fetishes?
Short answer: Yes.
Slightly longer answer: They seem to have a fetish for anything non-japanese.
But every race on earth is like that, finding other races to be "exotic" and highly sought after. I know that for my own sake, if given a choice, I would have sex with a Japanese, Korean, or Chinese woman instead of a Caucasian woman (I am a Caucasian man).
The one thing that blows my mind is the fact that in Japan, a sex doll is called a "Dutch Wife". Really? Have the Japanese had that much contact with Dutch women?
I agree, I'm half Japanese and half British. Been living around Asians most my life, mostly Japanese. Father never went back to England or should I say transferred back to England. I yearned for a Caucasian women and didn't pay much attention to the ones "like" me.
Moral of the story:

On the side note: It was hard trying to fight off every other Japanese male teen trying to get o' Aliza back then (Blonde with green eyes)

Anyways, back on topic, I guess since Japan is like 95% Japanese, other races would be sought after. I know here in England a lot of white guys want east Asian girlfriends. Not so much the other races though.
The thing is, it is more likely that a white guy will get an asian girl, than an asian guy gets a white girl. It isn't uncommon, look at the poster above you., but not nearly as common as a white guy and asian girl.
True, I've seen more Caucasian male/ Asian female couples than the latter.
I've often contemplated that I may have never got Aliza if it wasn't for the fact that she and I were childhood friends.

This requires a little excursion to japanese history. Back then in Edo-Jidai when Japan was closed to the other parts of the world, the dutch were the only ones permitted to trade in Japan. For this purpose they were given a permanent residence on an artificial island located at the bay of Nagasaki, called Dejima. This appears in the manga as well. Just read the introduction
The dutch merchants were allowed an annually audition at the Tenno's palace and therefore could freely walk on japanese soil for this purpose once a year.
This may be the connection where the name "dutch wife" results from.
Oliver, about that picture, I think it is a (failed) attempt by the author to show that the hand is much closer to the reader than the rest of the stuff in the picture.

I never even noticed she had hands to be perfectly honest. Much less make the observation where one of it was disproportionally large.
I have a bad habit, I check the mangas I read for accidental reasons to laugh, e.g. mistakes in the number of fingers, too many hands, in anatomical details ^^

Not in my usual habit, but i've to tell this. There is a biiiiiiiiiiiit (really bit^^) of mine in this release by Nemui. No translations, no editing, no proofreading…i just told about this manga to him, and luckily it was voted a lot in the last poll.
So, even if my contribute it's ridiculous, i'm really proud of this^^

It's a samurai story, i love samurai story.
My favourite anime (movie) is Ninja Scroll.
And i always pick up samurai characters in 2D fighting games (8===========D Baiken ^^).

somehow they have this mysterious aura to them that makes them all the more appealing.
Haven't seen Ninja Scroll for the longest, maybe it's time to go dig around in my DVD cabinet for it and unwind with a nice cold Heineken
