I doubt many Japanese are visiting Hentairules, however, if YOU’ve got relations in there, I feel sorry for them, and I hope they’re OK. Greatest earthquake in 140 years, ten-meters high tsunami, thousands killed, nuclear plants halted with one of them threatening to go the Three Miles Island way, fires breaking loose… Shit.

Not much to add about this, not as if there was much helpful stuff to say, regrettably :( You have my sympathy over there :(

Updated : if you wish to donate to fundraisers, cf that link. I forgot to mention stuff like that first, I forgot society is able of compassion at times like this.

I hope they recover good, and find all those missing people, remember, without them you would not have this site to read this!

This really did make me sad, and not to sound really frigging inappropriate, but when I also think that japan i where my favorite manga Soul Eater and Black Lagoon comes from, it just added to it… I still feel bad but kinda lessened when it wasn't Tokyo that was hit the hardest. Still Prayers to all of the people in Japan, I hope they find everyone thats missing and that no more life is lost from this… and hoping that no idiot pastor gets up and starts saying that it's thier fault that it happened.

Seriously being a Christian starts to suck when those dickheads get involved…

Actually there have been three Earthquakes bigger in less than 50 years.

1960-Valdivia, Chile-9.5
1964-Alaska, USA-9.2
2004-Indian Ocean(The one that caused the massive tsunami)-9.1

This one measured differently on different scales. Between 9.0 and 9.1

Still horrible, just not the worse in world history(Unless you meant Japan's history).

One thing I think will make it really hit a lot of people is the fact that anime and manga will probably be put in break for several months. I know that is small in the grand scheme, but we all know that is the only thing some people care about.

I meant : in Japan.

And anime and manga won't be put on halt.

Even if hell breaks loose, the show must go on. Business has to continue, otherwise what are people going to do ? To earn for a living ? How will they eat ?
You see the idea.
And when it's big shit time, leisure is even more necessary as a relief for the soul.

lollerskatz, are you nuttz?
with 8.9 to 9.1 it *does* compare with the worst quakes since this time it hits a high industrial and very populated country *directly*!
about the other stuff.
you underestimate the japanese people they are quite used having quakes, so they will rebuild quite quickly. I have seen the clip where the people in a supermarket the not flee panic, no the try to keep the stuff in place…
my hopes for them..

Picture it to yourself as it it was a logarythmic scale, there is FUCKING MUCH MORE difference between 8.9 and 9.2 than between 1.9 and 2.9, as a random example

Just as a side note :)

Extremely sadden i could care less if manga/anime is halted its only a hobby. I wouldn't be in this site if it wasn't for a this really great hobby that i got into wen i was 13(my how time goes by). I'm going to contribute where I can cuz its the rite thing to do( not tryna be a saint or anything). Hope some people that frequent this site would try and donate anything if they can. Last but not LEAST it would be really cool if you( Oliver) could post that redcross link that ME_ posted to get other people who visit this site to help the cause. Hope everyone a good night.

We managed to dodge a bullet here on the West Coast–Washington state–but Oregon and California got smacked around a little.

Last I heard, 1100 have died and one of the nuclear plants just suffered an explosion.

Er, what do you mean, dodge a bullet ? o_O

I think he was referring to the Tsunami's that hit our west coast. Very little death there, from what I heard, it was one guy trying to take a picture of the Tsunami that got caught by it and got dragged out to sea. Two others were pulled out as well, but was saved by the coastguard.

I called "Karma Running Over Dogma" for all the anti-shounen animu Japan's been allowed to make for the past two decades. But I've been cussed out by the lot of the (bullied-turned) bullies. So yeah.

Hopefully, a better phoenix will rise from the ashes. In Japan's case; a whale.

Now it has gotten worse. The nuclear plant may have had a meltdown. 170,000 people have been evacuated, but they will lose their homes to the radiation. This is really going to tank Japan's economy.

Hey please, any source about the source of this 170 000 persons figure, and their houses being to be abandoned ? That, I couldn't confirm…

What is there to say?
A lot of shit has hit a huge fucking fan.
It's everywhere.
Wishes and prayers don't repair homes and irradiate water supplies.
But deep down I still have some senseless naive hope that it will come together, and
that people will live a fulfilled life, even more so since the bitch slap by mother earth.
They're good people, and deep down I want them to recover and succeed, they are the other Rome to our own Rome.

Let's just say that this will be a definite way of removing the stick from the Japanese government's collective arse. They've been stagnated and out of touch with its people since 1993.
