Loading...I noticed I’ve started to see hentai releases using the ComicSansMS font, lately.
Please, if you’re thinking of using that font yourself, think twice. Anything looks better. Anything looks more pro. Nothing looks more amateur and kills the mood with the same efficiency as Comic Sans MS.

If you’re an editor, you’re not making yourself justice, you deserve better, your work deserves better, don’t let all your generous efforts go to half-waste 
Manga editors, look, I make you a gift, I packed together all my favorite good-looking comics fonts : @ mediafire / megaupload /depositfiles. And to ease your choice of fonts, you can simply create a collection of comics fonts in The Font Thing, and preview them all in the blink of an eye.
I know this post will be noninteresting for 99.99% of the persons visiting Hentairules, but, damn it, if I can convince just one person to give up on ComicSansMS, I’ll be a happy Oliver already !

If you're thinking of running a site full of malicious ads that bundles other people's hard work full of propaganda and unwanted inserts, kill yourself twice.
If you feel yourself targeted, consider this positive criticism.
If you use Comic Sans MS in manga / comic edits, you condemn your work to be disdained, looked down upon, and considered as close to garbage by principle.
Do you deserve that ?

I've to agree :/ comic sans and other funny lookin fonts i can't remember just seem out of place when used.

Whoever started this war against comic sans ms needs to be shot. This is utterly stupid. Apart from that, it's called comic for a reason, it fits comics (and manga).
There should be a war against peanut butter + jelly sandwiches.

This font is by definition ANTICLIMATIC.
It kills serious mood as well as light mood. Using it doesn't do justice to one's edits, and makes otherwise potentially good work go to waste.
That's strange. I don't find fonts to have effects on moods, story plots have effects on moods, for me at least.
That's what makes most 3D comics suck (among other things…some of them make Azuki Kurenai's drawings look proportionally correct). Because these artists are thinking "Comic!," they think "Comic Sans!" And it just looks ridiculous. Especially the :shudder: Superhero ones. 3D rendering just doesn't work in the comic format.

i kinda think that it fits in ero/hentai manga, because they are just that; comics!
i dont have any problem if u like it, its matter of taste after all.
but the problem is that comic sans is not made for manga/comic is just a name, microsoft just copy and made something that look alike 2 a font used in comics created by Dave Gibbons, but the original is way better, and comic sans looks very ugly btw
It’s true hamalsharatan…it’s not a war against comic sans or anything like that but it truly is an awful designed font. The design it’s just ugly to see, it doesn’t reduce well and it’s annoying to read full blocks of text.
It’s similar to the Arial/Helvetica thing one is bad and the other is really well done.
I personally like how the Laffayette ComicPro font looks like.

When it comes to (h-)manga, I associate Comic Sans with white boxes literally "MS-Painted" over the speech balloons; ultimately it does the job, but it just doesn't look very professional.
Comic Sans in casual letters/emails/whatever intended for only family and friends to read: perfectly fine. Still not my favorite font, but I don't hate it either.
Comic Sans in serious works: strictly forbidden, because the mere use of the font contradicts the professional message you want to get across.
I don't understand the intense hatred for comic sans. It's a silly font for silly situations.
With that in mind, I don't think it's appropriate for a hentai.
And i don't give a fuck about font. I wanna MOAR translated vanilla! MOAR!!! And i don't give a fuck what font translator uses (I have works on my HDD with fonts that makes one's eyes bleed, still don't give a fuck cuz those are used in vanilla works!). I just want her/him/them to translate, and translate sweet stories.
And for that I am grateful.
And my point is clear – storyline is most important. Use a shitty font in vanilla and I love you (someone will re-edit it anyway). Use the best fonts in loli gangrape/mindbreak/rape/NTR and I loath you!

Personally I like Comic Sans… but your right, it has not place in comics despite it's name. Comic Sans has it's place and that place is in chat rooms, emails, and bbs' that's about it.

I have been using comic sans for term papers in school for years. I didn't realize the widespread hatred from this font. But it really does look tacky in mangas. Thanks for providing the font pack Oliver.
I had one guy at work above me who was using that font as standard for mails, letters and everything else what a font could be used for!
As soon as someone said to him that this font is never used for professional purpose but for birthday partys, invitation letters, etc… he began using this font more than ever…even telling those working under him to use that font as of now!

I was going to come to Comic Sans' defense, citing that it is based on the lettering in Watchmen, but upon comparison of identical passages differing only in font, I can say that the original Watchmen font is much better. It's more angular.
