this will be Epic once fully Xlated
Oliver, You might want to notice that the ultra delicious Amami Dokoro has been completed for quite a while.
As far as I know, biribiri has yet to release the chapter 10 of that manga. That chapter will be a continuation of the initial arc featuring Amami.
Well… it's out now.
Yep ^^
I have yet to read this first chapter, but seeing as another complete hentai manga commissioned by you (Toppatsusei Inkou Shoukougun) still ranks as one of the best h-manga I ever read, I have high hopes for this one. Many thanks, both for commissioning this manga and for sharing it with us.
Since you've confirmed the entirety of it will be translated I'll wait until the final product, from what's presented it looks like a promising read though.
On another note, I absolutely love the cover art it's right up my alley.
I love Abe Morioka. Many thanx Oliver for another great sharing.
Wow thank you Oliver for this and Desu too for bringing this to a leacher like me.
erm, didnt read the hentai yet, but something doesnt look right there… o.O
that emblem on the left shoulder on the cover… i dont see "SS" there, do i?
did anyone else notice the schutzstaffel sign on the red jacket ? whats about japan and nazis ? in germany you would get your ass kicked for something like that
Wow. 200 bucks for a translation and a bare minimum cleaning job with a little tyesetting. Not too shabby for a weeks work. But I tell you, if all us scanlators were doing it that way for every project we do, there would be no manga/hentai community.
I don't get what you're saying, Feanor ?
How much does it usually cost?
200$ was the "correct" price to expect for a pro translation, as Desu does them. It could have cost me 50% more (wild guess with Saha, but I doubt I'm far from the actual figure, I already commissioned stuff from him), or maybe 30% less (with Lhytiss and I'd have to do the QC, or with "more pro but not present for a long time on the hentai scene" scanlators).
Someone who knows jappanese can translate pretty fast. Hentai are usually not as hard when it comes to the text. And the scanlation part is done just as fast the way they do it. Taking 200 bucks for 200 pages is insane, but if people are willing to pay. And I can understand letting someone pay you for something you wouldn't want to scanlate yourself. What I don't like about this is what people like saha and desu have turned into. You get into scanlations because you want to contribute. Doing a commission here and there is fine, but saha and desu let people pay for everything they do. You shouldn't earn money on that scale doing scanlations, because it is not legal. It's the same with online readers or other sites that rake in a lot of cash through ads, sites like linkbucks, filehoster that pay or donations. If all us scanlators would do it like them, the community wouldn't have been left alone by the publishers as much as we have. And it wouldn't be the size or as healthy as it is.
Most of us don't earn a dime doing scanlations, but we still do it because we have a passion for it. But maybe that way of thinking is out of style.
Hm, I see what you mean, Feanor.
I completely _understand_ your point, and I fully respect it, however, in my personal case, I have to disagree.
Your view on things is pure (and, once again, respectable, you understand me allright, let's not get emo OK ^^), however, I think that in the long run it turns counter-productive.
If there weren't scanlators going at it as fulltime as they can, for the money, we would have AT LEAST half less scanlated hentai releases.
Point 1 : counter-productive purity leading to less releases.
The money part is a deal done with two persons, however, in the end, these are dozens of thousands of persons who enjoy it and who didn't have to pay, them.
Point 2 : the problematic part, money paying, only concerns two people while it benefits thousands.
Point 3 : people are making a lot of money off this, and if they do it for money, it's piracy.
Dang, you're totally right, on this. Even I, in exchange of 60-90 minutes of my time every day, after I paid my server fees and all the rest, I still offer myself beer and one restaurant in the end of the month.
… And yet, I think that this is still the best for everyone, this way thousands and thousands of people get more and more quality stuff.
How to say it… It's purity versus efficiency. Sometimes something unclean and objectable ends up producing more benefits for the greater number of persons.
I don't ask you to agree with me, I'm simply stating my opinion
–
Now, on the "200$ is much" remark, the answer is extremely simple : it's the market price, and I couldn't get a professional work on this for less (+/- 10-20%), there simply was no offer fitting my needs below this range of price.
We both simply state our opinion. And I guess we know that no argument the other person has, will change the others mind. I'm just glad we can talk about it in a normal manner.
I trust your word that it's market price since. To me, that still doesn't make it okay. Just means the market price is too high as well.
You have a point that people benefit. But so do people through online readers. It's not exactly the same since they earn their money with stuff they had no part in, while desu and Co. do with their work. But that doesn't mean a select few should get rich, while the others do the same thing for free. Okay, not really rich. But earning 500-800 bucks a month with a hobby is quite a bit.
There are enough hentai sites that do the projects they wanna do, just like manga scanlators.I just think Desu and Saha could at least do half/half, even if they can fill their schedule with paying projects.
I just see the danger that everyone else could start thinking "hey, why am I doing this for free?" Even people like me that can't translate. They could still sell their expertise to a translator in exchange for a share. The commission system has no big effect on the community now, because most of us still work for free. But if that balance were to change, the community would tear itself apart. And that's without considering the publishers. How many releases would we have then?
From the start, the principle was "from fans, for fans". Doing stuff for free as a hobby has served us well. I'm not sure brining money into it is a good thing. Just for the danger of really pissing off the publishers alone.
But maybe it can't be helped. Paying filehosters, linkbucks sites and so on make it quite easy to get money involved. And I could just worry too much. Sometimes I worry about that *gg*
Anyway, it's probably overdue to end this. So I'm gonna leave it at that. If you feel the need to reply I'll gladly read it, but I won't repy (I'm weak, so I might though). Have a good one.
So, we agree to disagree
One last note, I think the current situation could be applied to many more situations and themes. It all comes down to this : time is money.
MMORPGs (when I got bored off Ragnarok Online a decade ago, I sold on auctions websites all my elite gear, and eventually my own account credentials, for real money, cashing in around 300$ as a goodbye, it was paid by people who decided they wouldn't spend their time earning it the hard way, but paying for it instead), work, leisure, everything comes down to this, at a point or another : time is money.
Time isn't always money, but the simple fact that time *can* be money, is enough : time, is money.
Of course, money's not everything in life, and to life.
… So that might mean that, more than in the past, people tend to evaluate their time in financial terms.
mmmm yeah, ss and hentai, but looks like a biker emblem to me (using "memorabilia" of the III reich of course)…and not only bikers likes that kind of (weird) stuff.
anyway i can't wait to see this completely translated, Abe morioka is in my "top five".
In my eyes, it was simply biker stuff, too…
And maybe it's like for the swastika, the fucking nazi using a formerly asian symbol and turning it into a symbol of absolute evil ?
Saw this in the random share section, I thought this was now fully translated?
Ooops. Thanks man !
So, yeah, the complete version is here : http://hentairules.net/2011/12/24/hari-hari-honey…
