Honestly, I don't agree… I never was under the impression that Toshiki's treatment of hair was that specific to him (at least, it's not specifically the hair that makes me recognize his work), so unless I learn that this way of picturing it was started by him, I'll just put it down to parallel styles rather than imitation.
After all, Phidias, Myron and Praxiteles represented the human form rather similarly, but none is reputed to have imitated (consciously or not) the manner of the others.
I…I don't think "yiff" is the sound you want. I do my best to avoid it, but are you aware of the term "yiffing"? I think "yip yip" might be safer (unless "yiff" is used in the manga. I have not yet, but will be, reading this).
