You wanted to make ME rage ? OLOLOL ! N00B !

It may be because I never watched Ano Natsu de Matteru, also called Waiting In The Summer, but in my eyes, this doujin was nothing short of bathos humour, when you witness someone very seriously and desperately trying to “hit your buttons” (move you, sadden you, or make you rage, making you feel emotions) but however gruesomely failling at doing so :D

Basically, it appears Carn was trying to make us rage (“You wanted to make ME rage ? With THAT ? N00B !“, those were my inner thoughts), showing us a wimp of a male hero (not Shinji lol) unable to prevent his loved female friends to be superfucked & mindbroken right in front of his eyes while he’s complacently doing as he’s told, holding a cam to save the footage for posterity. In concrete terms, at least in my case, I couldn’t give a single fuck about the story, and the whole point was to appreciate, or not, the drawings

Hey, remember to check the list of ALL of Carn’s works on Hentairules!
(almost up-to-date list, I rely on a kind helper, HurpDurp ;) )

Lol needs an NTR tag. But other then that this story is turning into a good one. The shinji Syndrome MC, the mind breaking of the females and best of all there is more to come. Can't wait for the rest of this to be finished.

Shouldn't you include the rapidgator and filegag links in your "That will generate a tiny bonus" Box, since they pay money too?

I wish I didn´t give a fuck when I first read this. I don´t know the series too and that whimp of a guy with his faces can´t be taken seriously but the middle part with the crying deflowered girls enraged me pretty much.

I take it you do this by design then. "Just a little beer money". In essence you earn money with every download that runs through this site. You must drink quite a bit of beer I guess.

Not really. 90% of the websites end up ripping him off or shutting down before he can cash out (well, it has happened to me plenty of times so I assume it's happened to Oliver as well).

Next up is that some sites block parts of the world (predominantly the United States since that shit with Megaupload went down) or just don't do affiliation with Americans anymore. Depositfiles no longer pays for traffic/premium sales done by Americans, nor do they pay to Americans (in other words when I was temporarily running the site while Oliver was out of commission, I wasn't making anything off of the uploads I put on Depositfiles because I live in the United States).

Finally, they lie about that "$30 per 1000 downloads" (or whatever) amount they say they pay. But that's not true, that only applies to files that are that are about 500MB or more. For the file sizes of most of these mangas (under 100MB), it would be more like $5 per 1000 downloads. (And keep in mind that's five United States Dollars. Oliver lives in France, Paypal charges a lot of money for currency conversion and sending money to another country.)

Honestly, the best thing I used when I posted the hentai here wasn't even the file sharing sites, it was ImageTwist. Got more off of that with 12 mangas than I ever did with any file hosts with all of the stuff I've uploaded on the Internet (which isn't just h-manga).

Anyway, most of the money goes into paying for this website. Websites are not cheap, despite what some companies may imply. If you want the website to have enough bandwidth (and by the amount of downloads the files got I'm gonna say this site needs a lot of bandwidth), you have to pay MORE money.

But much less than if you had to store all the fils on a server with dll. The filehosters store the files, which makes the site cheaper. And the same with the pictures. A lot of what is stored on this site is text, which doesn't take up that much bandwith. It's not a fluke that there are websites that cost nothing. Of course they usually don't allow things like hentai (or other pirated material). Still, a site that doesn't host gigabytes of data can be fairly cheap. And my point still stands that this would've been something, I at least, would've liked to know about. Because I always tried to avoid the deposit links, since I feel oliver shouldn't make money off other peoples scanlation. I wouldn't like if someone did that with my work, so I dislike it generally.
And now I found out there is no avoiding that for me. In my mind, it would've been common courtesy for oliver to disclose that from the start.

At least someone somwehat related to this site replied. That's something at least. Thx for that.

Well, if you don't want me to make a single buck, you may use bulk image downloader on the pictures galleries, that would be the solution.

I'm considering getting a server to provide direct downloads, but the cost would be very high indeed, I don't see any way for me to offer it for free. And yet it would offer me the huge comfort of not relying on hosts who kill my files eventually.

On my side, I wrote several times that I've earned small money with my blog, it's written on several pages (not just blog posts that come and go), I don't consider it a state secret. For something on which I spend 60 to 90 minutes every day, in my eyes, that's natural. I'd earn much more if that time was spent working, you know, lol, or I'd have more fun if that time was spent on leisure stuff. But – as I wrote elsewhere, haha – I don't intend to force you to agree, you'd be fully legit to disagree, it's a matter of personal opinion, you may simply move to another website then, like e-hentai for instance if you like :).

So, what? It's okay for the scanslators to make money off of the original mangaka's work? That seems like a bit of a double standard to me.

Sorry, Oliver, seems you were right about what would happen from my comment :(

Chill out Hurp, it's a matter of personal opinion, it's not a subject on which only one person and nobody else can be right ^^

I don't mind. He has his opinion. I reserve the right to have my own. It is a double standard, in a way. Both are stealing to begin with. But at least the scanlator (and I know since I am one) puts lots of time into a chapter to clean and edit it. I mean several hours (if you aren't just lazy).
And then someone else comes along, downloads the thing, repacks and reuploads it and earns money with that? I personally think even the scanlator shouldn't make money off his work (I don't myself). But at least he really worked for it. The guy that just comes along did nothing. You can't tell me you don't see a difference there.

I know oliver spends a lot of time, and he does a good job of it. But in a way that is his choice. You wouldn't need to rename every single page so that it includes the websites adress. And he wouldn't need to write the posts for his uploads. He could do the same thing he does now, while investing less time.
But however much time it does take him to do this. Essentially he is like the guy from my example. He had no part in the creation of the actual scanlation, yet he is earning money with it.

Personally I'm skeptical. I don't believe anything people just tell me. So I'm skeptical when somone tells me "it's not much", since I haven't seen it with my own eyes. Depening on the people that come here and the payout term, it does have the potential to be more than a bit though.
Maybe that's my problem with the whole "just to cover our expenses" line. For exmple in germany, waste incineration plants are financed over fees that everyone has to pay. Because of that the plant should only generate profits a little higher than it's costs. In reality these plants have a yearly return on sales of more than 30%. They make profits in the millions even though they shouldn't.

I don't have to make a single buck in order to scanlate (and trust me, I spend more time on it than oliver or most other people do on their things). I have no costs, but even if I had some. Nobody is forcing me to do this. I do it because I want. So I offer my time (and money). Why do other people need to receive money for something they started doing without having money on their mind? Is it wrong for me to ask myself that, when I seriously don't get it?

Never forget, Snaik : « if you rage, you lose ». This is a work of fiction.
