Well… I’m back :)
I’m back from my short week-end in Paris, hoping everybody was cool, had a good week-end
I’ve seen various things in Paris, tasted Korean cooking for the first time (yay, getting closer to Boichi ^^), met various friends, some of whom I didn’t see in more than 10 years, I tell you, it was good
Would you allow me some promo, while I’m at it ?
Please, oh, please, if you have a chance, can you try visiting the Exposition called “Raphael, The Later Years”, in the Louvre, in Paris ?
So far, I only knew Raphael from one painting seen for real, that didn’t impress me, and the rest were printed images in books or on the internet. Whereas the expo I visited was – d’oh! – full of works of art by this artist, real ones. And… they’re a whole different thing, seen for real.
I understand now why this artist is SO loved, more than reason should allow sometimes. The images were reaching to us, were touching, moving, touching our soul, we felt sympathetic or understanding with the persons drawn on these oil paintings, centuries and distances lost meaning… I regret being almost illiterate in arts, I just don’t have the culture, the vocabulary to explain it, and yet…
The simple friendship for a friend whose painting was done… The eyes of a man looking right at you… Or the infinite, and yet sad, so sad, smile of a mother who knows she’ll have to let go of her child, with her hand still softly holding the baby for a previous while, even though her child, as young as a baby, is already surrounded by the symbols of his fate, like John The Baptist handing him a text with the foreboding “ecce agnus dei” text meaning he’s bound to be a sacrifice…
Sorry for the long words. Let’s just say : if you’ve got a chance to visit this expo, it ends on January 14, and it’s beautiful
Raphael, don't know this artist yet, will you post some uncensored stuff from him ?
Hope he doesn't do too much fucking NTR.
…wut.
Not sure if trolling: http://www.louvre.fr/en/expositions/late-raphael
I really hope he was trolling :/
