I apologize this selfish post, I’m simply using Hentairules as a way to contact potential French readers :)

Best thing to do Oliver is just make a false Facebook account and contact them. Or send a private message if they have one inserted on their page to have privacy

While this is a totally different topic, being surrounded by French people might be the right place to ask this:
I'm not French, but I do have access to French mangas. As my country pretty much stopped publishing hentai (there's just some ecchi stuff nowadays), I was looking for good uncensored manga on the French market, and was absolutely stunned to find Taifu's "Hentai sans inderdit" series, including uncensored and nethertheless hardcore mangas of such great mangaka as Yamatogawa and Toshiki Yui. <3
Well, while my French is just enough to understand what's going on in a hentai, I have a hard time finding stuff out. For example, is the "How Good was I ?" of Yamatogawa available or not? Unlike for Power Play, I don't find a release date here, and everything seems to indicate it's out: http://www.taifu-comics.com/index.php/serie/How-G
However, the comic shop guy told me the're aren't any more titles from Hentai Sans Interdit yet (and it was not included in their mangas). Was he lying?
Furthermore, are there any other publishers in France publishing such great hentai mangaka in uncensored form? Where can I get a good overview, possibly easy to understand & navigate?
[Hope you don't mistake me for a spambot doing Taifu advertisement, that's not my intention. =/ ]

There's just Taifu comics that do this kind of publication.
Right now, from yamatogawa, there's just "Witchcraft" and "How Good was I ?" which are released. "Power play" will be released the 26 september.

(sorry for my english ^^)

"How Good was I" was already released in English. Might as well get that.

Note: It's uncensored. Censorship is just for the preview images. You can also buy it on Amazon.

I ordered that. And I regret it. For anybody who understands French, I'll clearly advise to buy the Taifu versions instead of the Project-H versions! I have Witchcraft from Taifu, and "How good was I" from Project-H. Both have the same size, print quality and are uncensored. BUT: While Taifu has ALL material from the original tankobon in it, and in the same form and color, Projekt-H hasn't. For example, PH does not add wrappers. And the artwork which was below the wrapper in the original is missing. Taifu uses wrappers and has the original material below.
But even worse: Most of the color pages are either missing or black&white in the PH version, while the Taifu version has all of them in color, even in the middle of the manga. Examples:
– the colored contents page of "How good was I" has been removed and a totally different non-color content page has been used)
– the first pages of the "Cyber Rabbit" story are black&white, even though they are supposed to be colored.
I'll not support that any further, sorry.

I’m confused. How would you know if the French version of “How Good Was I” has the color pages instead of black and white? You only bought the English version of “How Good Was I”, not the French one. You bought the French version of an entirely different different book. If that were me, I wouldn’t jump to conclusions right away until I had compared both…

Either way, mostly likely Japan wouldn’t let them use them so they had no choice.

Edit: It should also be noted that sometimes stuff that was printed in color in a magazine is later printed in black and white during the tankōbon scans. Of course, scanslators just use the original mag scans in that case. You wouldn’t know at all unless you owned the physical Japanese book.

Of course I didn't buy the same book in two versions, duh. ^^'
Still, I'm pretty sure things like wrappers are a general publisher choice and not different for two books of the same price, author and size.
The colored content page obviously was a part of the tankobon, for starters, even if we assume the pages of Cyber Rabbit weren't.
Oh, I just googled and have proof: The pages which are black and white at Project-H's version ARE colored in Taifu's version! The very same page you see under the link below is black and white in my PH version! So no doubt about it. Link: http://postimg.org/image/sg2pu83w7/

I just asked them. I noticed from previous post there that they state for some wrapper pics that they are just included in digital versions. (Nothing about color pages within the manga, though.) Quite miserly to reduce printing costs like that and not mentioning that in the actual book descriptions on their homepage.
Guess I'll just go with the Taifu versions, then.

Seconding Hurp's question. I want to write a promo post for them (the only active hentai editor still alive ? Better help them), the info might be interesting :)

Looks like they replied. Apparently they did it cuz it was in the middle of the book and looked out of place (which I can understand). If the color pages are in the beginning of the book, they usually keep them in color.

By the way: One of the main reasons I want to support those (even though I own the scanlations) is that I hope that in a world of more and more ridiculously censored mangas, these will still enable us to get decent mangas in a version that's not consisting of 10% white nothingness. Just to make sure:
These companies do get the uncensored versions directly from the source, right? Or do they just decensor them on their side? So far I've mainly seen mangas whose Japanese originals can be relatively easily decensored, so both would be possible in theory. But for future relaeses I'm hoping for the mosaic and white hole ones, too…

Source, assuming they still have them. Most of Project-H's hings are still censored because they couldn't find the originals.

Stuff with white wholes, unless it's toned down in the tanks is likely lost forever due to the fact it was never drawn in the first place.

Also, how does one "own" a scanlation?

Jacob

“Have” may be better then. Thought “own” works, but I’m no expert when it comes to the English language (I’m neither French nor English).

You think it has never been drawn? I’m not sure about that. Having a bit of experience with drawing tells me it’s hard to draw visible parts anatomically correctly if you don’t also draw stuff that is not visible. So I think the mangaka has drawn the missing part at least in the sketch. It may be possible that it has never been inked and got lost when the pencil was erased, but even that seems to be unlikely looking at the cases. If you start an ink stroke, it looks different from the way the lines usually look at the border of the holes. So I do think there once was more. However, if the mangaka or the editors “took out” the parts afterwards, that I don’t know.

Aside from that, there’s still the pixelated stuff to hope for, right? Pixels are surely added electronically, so if there were originals on paper and they are still around…

Oh wait, there's more evidence! Often, tankobons have a slightly or even significantly less annoying censorship! That's another hint that there are uncensored versions somewhere, and the white parts have been erased electronically.
They really look like being erased on screen, too. As the holes' outlines are usually too smooth to be created by ending several ink strokes there.

I'm referring specifically to tankōbon that DON'T have a decrease in censorship. Which seems to be the case nowadays.
