Hello everyone :)

I’m busy as a bee as always, but I still wanted to take the time to ask you a question, to get a better image of the general preferences you may have…

See, there has been a new version of a manga that has been released, in which the bad translation and the poor editing were replaced with a proper translation with good editing.
Sadly, in the process, there has been a levels correction that ruthlessly slaughtered all shades in the image, and killed, in my eyes, most of the visual interest of the images.

Just compare those two images : before / after

What do you prefer, the version with good picture quality, or the version with better translation and editing ?

Not with these pictures. The properly translated ones were "burnt", turned to the same white as the white of the backgrounds, most of the shades have disappeared, and no levelling will bring them back into existence.

I think he meant copy paste the translations into the good images with handy dandy adobe

Agreed. It's very easy to do in Photoshop.

Try.

Go on, prove it, redo the manga. You'll see.

(and if I'm proven wrong, hooo, poor me, I'll be so unhappy :D )

I apologise, Oliver, but I'm not sure I get it. Please see for yourself: http://bayimg.com/HAJMDaAFC

The trick is to transfer the translated bubble to the unleveled image, Oliver.

though both is a nice thing ;)

Both is good, but if you have to have a choice… it depends on the scenario and initial pictures… if it's a high censorship thing that's more interesting for the scenario, I'll want the better editing and translation, if it's a fap and go with low censorship, NICE pictures and uninteresting story, picture quality comes foremost

Neither of these have "good editing".

On a related note, there's actually a third version by Doujin-moe: http://exhentai.org/g/652505/de1b6dfb63/

Anyway, I'm not sure what's up with the leveling on this. QB is normally pretty good at that stuff. He does tend to write really long sentences, tho.

I prefer the no editing, no translation, just picture so I wouldn't feel guilty after fapping to it.

Then start looking for raws instead.

There are also the Korean which have slightly lighter color and Thai version with really over saturated shading. Have you try muxing the translation from QB with that?

Bug that, I for one can't look at comics without also reading them, but if you lean that way HurpDurp is right, just go for raws.

I'm actually leaning toward the translation/editing in the "bad" version in this example. The "good" translation is too wordy & also, who even talks like that during sex?

lol i know this artist :D

it's from MTSP isn't it?? :P

the girl looks like she's from the work "Tachibana-san's Circumstances With A Man"

and i still have the share "Sakiko-san’s Man Issues" which has all the file names in

"i-raged-i-lost-WRYYYYYYYYYYYYY"

the art is amazing, but yup it is NTR material :P

i wonder why it got decolorized in the new version?

it would be great if it were to maintain the old version with the new translations.

I still remember porn on VHS. I can deal with quality loss.

Lolotax RAW version: http://exhentai.org/g/619957/9acd221a2b/ <- more complete, need leveling
b7zgZngHmQ RAW version: http://exhentai.org/g/620322/65b8a54acd/ <- cuts out a bit of artwork

coresplinter ENG version: http://exhentai.org/g/634679/e31d1ef876/
doujin-moe ENG version: http://exhentai.org/g/652505/de1b6dfb63/
QBtranslations ENG version: http://exhentai.org/g/674427/bb464cf69a/ <- better translation

Jesus the seriousness of this Post!! XD I gotta say though, nothing worse than an awesome manga with awful translation. Wounds me inside lol. More than the actual pictures I love story 80% of the time. Hence why I read manga and not just random pictures lol

As an added note, prefer the first picture :) like contrasts helps me focus on certain elements, again just my two cents hey

Since the Doujin-moe's release was on Laruffi's level, keep the good translation of course!

The very first one by Coresplinter were horribly edited, but at least it was better translated. Yet, he had the excuse of being new to the thing and alone.

What doujin-moe did to it…it's called butchering. :(

This is a comparison between Coresplinter and QBtranslations, it doesn't involve Doujin-Moe's.
