Loading...I knew there were many women working as hentai mangakas in the industry, but I didn’t suspect there were this many, maybe a majority. Would someone know the male-to-female ratio in the profession ?

Shiwasu no Okina is a woman? That caught me by surprise, but even Baka-Updates says that.
Just so you know, Baka-Updates is like Wikipedia. You should never use it for a source. It's rarely actually correct.
For example, my group has two releases but according to Baka-Updates I only have one!!!

I knew about several of these, but are you sure about Ishikei? Mangaupdates has that one listed as male, though since that site is user editable it's hardly an absolute authority.
I'd like to know how many of these are confirmed as fact or are just because.
For example, IMHO I think Higenamuchi who's work I love is probably female. But that's based on nothing more than my own impressions of the artist's work. Both the art itself and the content of their work give me a strong female vibe. Even so I wouldn't put it on this list since I know nothing for sure.

Hisai is a woman. Wow this is awesome considering I'm a fan of her work and Digital Lover too. Does anyone know if the H-artist Emily is a woman too?
I dont know if the woman is the majority or outnumbers the man, but looking from that list alone, I can confidently say that the woman artists are most of everyone's favorite here and certainly they are the better artists than the guys. Hisasi, Napata, Sekiya, Yuzuki, Digital Lover, Cuvie, Abgrund, Okina, Sekiya, Alpha, Shigunyan, and many more, damn this list on top already containts THE BEST hentai artists, I dont know any guys that can possibly out quality them (not outnumber), as far as I know that I like that isnt in that list is Homunculus.
Was there any confirmation that napata is actually a girl? Been following her twitter account for sometime and she does sound like a girl. Most of her posted pics by the way are cats. loll

I’ve seen mostly mentions of the mangaka being male… Also needing a confirmation.
I believe Naruco Hanaharu is female as well. Can't confirm if Takayaki/Jenoa Cake or Homunculus are, most of the Japanese would know if they meet up with the mangakas at Comiket where they sell (or used to sell) doujin.

SNO is a woman… I find myself having so many conflicts with what I've been fed by the media and various women authorities.
It makes me wonder if she draws certain comics to appease fans or to express a sexual fantasy, or a combo of the two.
What it shows me is that men and women seem to have somewhat similar sexual fantasies and that what I've been fed about the differences between the sexes being exaggerated.
All the artists you mentioned above:
-Have women with spectacular bodies, you'd think women would draw plain or fat bodies
-There's male domination
-Slut shaming is almost nonexistent, if the women love sex then they simply love sex, there's no second guessing their motives
It's cool that such sexually liberated women do the art and also let folks partake in the viewing of the work, but you also have to worry and wonder what kind of backlash these ladies may face.

At least in hetero world, sexual fantasies are different enough to be complimentary, or do you really believe in the stupid preaching that only males are interested in sex while females are interested in love (or in money, according to the point of view:D )? Sexuality is only a natural instinct, even necessary to preserve the species. The only surprising things is that even nowadays there are people repeating that pornography is made by males and directed exclusively to males. That would be true if only males bought porn, what has NEVER been the fact. The way people say, an alien would imagine that porn has only males on screens, and that on this planet males have only two options to reproduce: masturbating or hiring prostitutes. I know that many men are sons of bitches, but that is another story.:$
It's not that I believe it, but as you say it's what is constantly preached. It's like in some of those dystopian states where the government controls the flow of info to the people and are constantly advertising the greatness of the state. You are saturated by the message so you follow along because fighting against those who broadcast the message can be disastrous or dangerous.
So as a result of total immersion and bombardment about the war between the sexes I get here in the US, I've publicly become an asexual zombie. Shuffling around and making empty small talk, while privately I'm a sexual goofball. I used to think I was a sexual Krakatoa ready to erupt, but since I've been reading hentai and now finding that some of the artists are women; I realize that my fantasies are tame in comparison of many others out there and that we all may be quiet little sex freaks.

This all feels funny to me, as I just found that out today–and now I discover that the vast majority of my favorite H artists are all female. And some of them are pretty damn good looking.

I have no evidence whatsoever, but Yamatogawa's style often made me wonder if this could be a woman, too. That would push another of your all time favorites on the list. But like I said, that's just a feeling and I have nothing to prove that.

Those people met him/her and talk with him/her in the comments. It would be interesting to know about the details how they address the self-proclaimed old man. You know, those details Google translate doesn't catch.
Then last but not least, for Shiwasu no Okina I find it really obvious that he/she likes women. If that shouldn't be obvious from the mangas, check the twitter posts in general and all those scribbles and worshipping of female idoles and such stuff. Of course there would still be the possibility that we have a lesbian artist here, but that would be too good to be true I guess.

it's awesome how many of them are female, but i do feel like it isn't a great idea to create a list that also includes photos, unless the artist themselves is releasing it publicly. Seems like the perfect way to turn your wiki into a stalker list.

I could be wrong, but Takeda Aranobu of the doujin circle “Labomagi” might be a woman when the artist is also moonlighting as a vtuber (https://www.youtube.com/c/%E6%96%B0%E9%87%8E%E3%81%B6%E3%82%8B%E3%81%BE%E3%81%AE%E6%9B%B4%E8%A1%A3%E5%AE%A4333/videos), whose mannerisms seem feminine enough (the voice is a little suspect because it’s distorted; probably a bad microphone).
