I'm dissapointed in Shindol, he/she's done some amazing heartwarming vanilla stuff, but then he/she sways to utterly disgusting shit like this.

This is indeed a sad story but what is sadder is that there are probably many similar things happening right now around the world. In my opinion what is really disturbing about this story is that it is too realistic to be enjoyed as a pure work of fiction.

That's why I consider this story a social commentary in addition to a hentai story.
As one who was born in an Asian country dominated by Chinese traditions, I was as "dumb" as the girl in the story until I came to America because in my birth country parents have this "lock up your children so they won't meet bad people" mentality, and this result is, as you put it, lambs unable to recognize wolves for who they are and go down the drain without knowing it. While Western readers might not realize it, the girl's experience more or less mirrors parts of the lives of many Asian children, and to me her tragedy serves as a criticism to Asian parents' penchant to hide the dangers in the real world from their children instead of teaching the children about them.

I think that's why he noticed it living in Japan. Although Japan and Taiwan (my birth country) are two different cultures, based on my understanding in Japanese parents' notion of education is very similar to Taiwanese, and to a foreigner like ShindoL this Asian parent syndrom might be one of the first cultural shocks he/she experienced while trying to understand Japanese society. Just like non-Asian Americans were stunned by Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, as an American ShindoL might have noticed many social issues in Japan simply due to his foreign upbrining.
You think America is not as fucked up as Japan ? you are in for a big surprise , you don't know how terrible the education especially in sexual matter is in the U.S . I think people have it backward on this subject , while Asia never was especially ported on women status( in term of representation of women as equal as man not even as the reality ) the U.S was and still is a male oppressing women culturally speaking . Sure it's not as bad as it was in the 50's and before that , but's there is a lot of strong if not extreme issue in the country and Europe while a bit more advanced is not that better of .
Look at the teen pregnancy stat, the drug situation , thing like the "Gamergate" , our the date rape or the college rape that are swept under the rug because the rapist are some kind of pseudo sport champion .

Everything that is dangerous or simply stranger are kept away from children. I don't think it's a specificity of Asian culture . Keep in mind that in reality the real wolves are not stranger they are kin, and if I remember the first chapter , the girl is a loner and some popular douche have his way with her just because he is popular or cool . How exactly do you keep you daughter from that ?
While keeping dangers away from children is common in many cultures, based on my own observation the one thing specific about Asian culture is that Asian parents are more reluctant than American parents to talk about them, so their children are more vulnerable than American children when growing up.
The American parents I have known usually adopted a dual approach to child safety by keeping children away from harm and explaining why they should stay away from dangers and how to deal with them, so most American children are aware of the dangers in the real world and have a rudimentary understanding that they need to fight harm.
However, Asian parents' approach to child safety is usually "speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil" and pretends dangers do not exist by isolating children from the outside world (keeping children in school and after-school class from day-to-night). While the Asian approach is more likely to protect children from harm than the American approach (they have no idea what danger is, so they do not know how to approach it), it also leaves them ignorant of the real world and its dangers and likely to see harms as something good (acts of rebellion against dictatorial parents or outdated traditions).
It is impossible to always keep your children from harm's way, so the practical method is to teaching them about it so they would at least have something to defend themselves against it. Yet, Asian parents' love for children usually turns into over-protectiveness that renders their children more vulnerable and less likely to survive from harm than Americans. While I agree there are problems with American sexual norms, in my opinion Americans' willingness to talk about it when it hits the news is better than the Asian tendency to sweep everything bad under the rug and forget about it. At least the U.S. have made some progress since the 50's, most Asian countries are probably still stuck in the Victorian era.
I understand what you are saying and on the whole you may be right in the fact Asian would have an higher tendency to sweep under the rug such event , that has to do with shaming the family and all that nonsense . But I think there are still , especially in the U.S what with puritanism and what not, a large number of people who would do just about the same.

Consensual sex is consensual, simply. It is normal, when the sizes are not exactly proportional, to have clear evidence of penetration, but that does not mean non-authorized penetration. The same way, a confessed cocksucker is not supposed to play the rôle of victim after the end of the relationship).

Shindol is great stuff, the vanilla makes it even fun to read when we're not doing the expected one-handed-relief, but I downloaded this without reading the review because I was expecting the usual shindol… This one was as Sixugliness and Hroldor says, too sad and too real for my heart. In a way this makes me respect shindol more but still feel hurt by it.

The first time I read ShindoL, I liked.
"Sarashi Ai" is a really interesting work, even the addendum "Porn is literature" is interesting – actually, from the funny title. Stories like "Nurse Recycle" and "Becoming a girl" are sick, to say the least, and then I am very careful with this artist.
On this "Emergence":
Of course, people after porn are interested in fuck after fuck, but such a depressive story like this is too much to me. The girl is abused in all sorts of ways, and there is no fabbable moment in the narrative – at least not for sexually healthy people. I tried to find something interesting, but I gave up the moment she was raped by her father. That is another problem I have with the hentai genre: the authors seem to have been told that if they do not include incest in their works, they will never be great hentai mangakas. Well, I do not give a shit if people say I am conservative, but I see no fun in incest, and I cannot see any fun in rape.
In short, this is not the first ShindoL's work I have to delete before finishing to read.
I'd say, there's more to gain from the comments on the present page than from reading the manga itself. Don't feel bad about not reading it

This is why I said this story too real to be enjoyable in an earlier comment. Most hentai stories are so outlandish so readers could indulge in guiltless pleasure, but Emergence has mixed too many real-life elements to allow readers to read it without remembering one or two real-life events.
So she plans to have children with her biological father? Stupid girl. Incestuous offsprings have serious problems, and only crétins deny that. In the moment of combining the replication, the cells will have to repeat some standards that they already have. That said, if her children, following her mentality, decide to reproduce among themselves, she will have monsters at home. And before anyone asks, I do not say that; biology does.
As long as incest does not biological reproduce, my mind can agree. This is also my view on homosexuality — lesbians and gays are the factor that balances population through child adoption.
The problem is that incest DOES result in reprodution. There are lots of cases out there. Homosexuality, at least, does not have that result even when it is incestuous.

From Shindo's website, I just discovered Shindo L was an American from New York (which may explain his/her art style). I find his spread of influence in other works interesting. However, when it comes to his own, he is liable to implement the most sinful and twisted of the the hentai genre and implement it into his stories. Everyone has their fetish, but Shindo is too sinful for me
First impression: ShindoL's worst work. Drawings are averagely fappable even without considering the plot, MC is dumb as a doorknob, and she is surrounded by assholes.
But on second thought: there are no assholes at all. School students, rich old men, parents, junkie "boyfriend" and drug dealers behave more or less like real ones. Well, there's the father, but I think we can write it off to it being Japan. Come to think of it, this is a manga with a "look what happens if you are a braindead slut" aesop and still the worst ShindoL's manga (save maybe for TSF monogatari, whose links are dead)

Well, y i can seems kinda weird saying i’m relieved. But yes, the last chapter, the sixth, bring a little hope for the main character, or instead of hope, a moral. It’s not an eternal descent into hell, cause the fall finally stop. That’s why i said that ^^
i find update on different page, final chap is 7 and it doesn’t end well for her, i deeply feel sorry for the poor main character especially for what happens in last chap, must say one of worst end i’ve ever seen since Akamega kill (not Hentai)
