My main point, that was about the delay. Becoming a parent changes your perspective on life, true, but it also dramatically reduces the available free time you have for enjoying your life with your wife. Once a parent, you can basically give up on anything you might have been able to do without preparations before. You also can't go on many locations. You have much less spare time and your wife's love and attention has to be shared with someone else who will, by nature, take priority.
I don't say it's bad (heck, I'm a serial father myself), I say it would be CRAZY to rush things and not just enjoy marriage without kids first, for several years at least.
