Small excuses, and a question…
A quick apology, I have been playing around with the site’s CSS to learn to do stuff and see how it looked. More precisely, toying around with the fonts of the site.
I had this idea to see how the posts would look with new fonts, especially a font that I find super beautiful and eye-catchy, that I saw on NextInpact.
As a result, Hentairules has been looking horrible and/or completely broken during 30 minutes, sorry about it
At least, the tests are finished, now, I restored everything to how it was before. What’s left is asking you guys for your opinion…
Please, could I humbly ask you if you have a STRONG preference between two aspects of the posts, the current, or the one I tested ?
Image 1 : hentairules with its current font.
… or, Image 2 : with the font that caught my eye…
Would one of these fonts have your clear preference ?

- Font 2 (FYI, it's Ubuntu -normal) (52%, 646 Votes)

I tried to adjust sizes to make the readability unaffected by the font’s size, for a better comparison.
I noticed some weird things, for instance italicized words looking too stuck to the word on their right, as if there was no space…
Well, thanks for your feedback !
I also took that chance to revalidate the site's HTML (from 64-65 errors to around 25, woot), clean some shit, adjust the display of the tags and categories, and – sorry about it – deactivate at least temporarily the feature to add your own tags (because brainless bots found again a way to add tags themselves, I had a ~1200 tags made of garbage terms, asian thingies or meds names in just a week, sigh, there's not even a point to that).
And I know that I should instead make a brand new theme for the site. I'm not giving up on the idea, okay, but that' doesn't prevent from testing shorter term things, because they're FUN and that's why I'm here
2nd font, 1 size smaller. with the size it's at, it looks like it could make posts appear longer than they are, and people would be less likely to read the whole thing.
my fave is always calibri
I voted for the second one because IMO, it has a "rounder" look and thus a "warmer" more inviting feeling to it.
Side by side comparison would really be beneficial.
I opened them in separate tabs and toggled between them…
After switching back & forth between the two example photos, I'm still pretty used to the original font, but I'd be fine with the 2nd option. Do what you want, Oliver, I'll still be a regular. ^_^
I like the heavier font weight of Ubuntu (maybe due to the size used), but I dislike the shortened horizontal space between words and the increased height taken.
"Hentairules with its current font."
It's way better, if people want to read better just Ctrl+ the page.
I've been lurking (and leeching) around since the old days of blogspot, and I've got to say that I've gotten used to this font. Don't get me wrong, I like Ubuntu, but the current font just feels more familiar. (same argument with the whole "new theme" idea)
While the second font is nicer, the letters are closer together making it harder to read.
