Some context, from Google searches: the main girl here is Urakaze. In the original Kantai Collection, she speaks in a dialect sounding country-ish, the Hiroshima dialect. However, in the present volume, her speech pattern has been westernized as “nigga”-speak. My reaction, in an image.
In what universe would a country cutie use Black American gangsta slang, seriously ?!? That ruined everything for me.

Wonder how much of THESE were used prior to creating this so-called “gangsta” translation?
I actually thought the gangsta version was quite entertaining, in a this-is-so-wrong kinda way. The first time Urakaze called the Admiral “Mah Nigga” I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself.
In case you didn’t see it, XCX Scans has also released a “normal” version, with all the gangsta-speak removed. Personally, I’m keeping both versions.
Did they ? Damnit, when I checked their blog there wasn’t yet this correct version.
You know what, to hell with them (said in a friendly manner, not being serious), I’ll keep the Sion version and call it a day, I spent enough time on this share already ^^;;
