From my limited knowledge of Date A Live, it involves spirits, massive disasters taking hundreds of millions of lives and magic-sealing kisses. It’s definitely about more than just idols.
Presumably the confusion comes from the very similarly named Love Live, which is indeed about relatively normal idols?
