Maybe this is what really happens when you level up in an adventure game. You get to 2nd level, get a bunch of hit points, and suddenly you’re able to have sex for twice as long. Over 30 years ago, my childhood friend brought Dragon Warrior over to play on my NES.
He thought it was the greatest game ever made, I thought it was the world’s greatest sleep aid.

The scenario’s pretty good, it’s got its lot of surprises, it’s not too focused on grinding compared to some other games, there are far more possible playstyles to find them all in a single playthrough, and when you think the game’s over you realize you’ve only just seen its first half with much satisfying reveals coming later.
I’m still catching up on my RPG backlog.
I just finished Chrono Trigger, or should I say, I got to the last boss, almost beat him then ran out of time and went to bed. Two years have passed and I still have that final battle save state sitting on my Retropie, probably destined never to be finished.
Maybe if I ever retire and still have half my brain at 80, I’ll finish these RPGs.
