Also, can you do just one simple thing please? Control-A, to view all the texts. Does it “reveal” the texts you don’t see? If yes, it’s a stylesheet problem, they’d be in the same colour as the background.

Either way, i changed nothing on my end, I just suddenly noticed text again,. that’s been what,.. maybe a year or more.

That part was not, I think, caused by something the theme creator did, as he didn’t perform things related to the comments for a while now.
However, I remember, among the various manipulations I did, there was on this day the conversion of the comments database to UTF-8mb4, before that it was in latin1, like the posts table used to be only two days prior still.
When I remembered it, I was ready to proudly announce that’s what solved the problem, but good old habits kept me from proclaiming my triumph too soon.
And that may be for the best: it’s been two weeks I switched to a new server, so the problem should have manifested only two weeks ago. However, you write it’s been like that for you for a whole year, so it’s already started bugging out on my old server… which leaves me clueless, again.
I’ll just say it’s got to do with the Hentai Gods that decided to do you a favour, Taco ^^;;
