YISS! YISS! YISS!

The Gotoubun No Hanayome series (“The Quintessential Quintuplets”) had an ending I am not fond of, but don’t count on me to accidentally spoil it to you. However, I can still mention that part, that was mentioned in the very first chapter: there’s a marriage, with one of the female heroines in the role of the bride. All the suspense being WHO that will be, as the five heroines are twins.

In the present doujinshi, the chosen bride is Miku, the slightly geeky sister. She’s got an adult vibe to her, radiates with self-confidence, and is determined to give her husband a good time for their wedding night. There you go, this it it ^^

The drawings are pretty okay, not too censored, I’d say it’s a fine addition to any hentai lover’s collection :)

Hello everyone :)

You're with a post I have written, and scheduled, in advance.
At the present time, I'm on holidays with my wife and kids, curious to check what this weird thing people call "the country" looks like. Rumour has it there is no internet and you must find other ways to spend time, like playing board games together, fishing or hiking, can you believe it?!? I know, that sounds crazy. I'll also go on a family tour for another week as a holidays extension, this year, I hope they remember what my face looks like after all this time :D

I hope this share isn't broken or anything, everybody can vouch I never make mistakes with my hyperlinks, or slaughter the HTML code of the posts, yeah, definitely.
Buuuuuut... Look, if I screwed up, no matter the reason, what can I do, right? Deal with it :D

Take care while I'm away, enjoy the beautiful days of Summer, don't catch the covid-19 (why not wait for the covid-20 variant, so much future hyyyype!), and meet you back in the second Monday of August! :-)

I much prefer the ending style from “We Never Learn” where there’s multiple endings and a different girl wins in each one. You pick the ending you like, no one is left unhappy, it makes more money for the author, and there’s more written material for the fans. Sure, it’s milking the franchise like no other, but I suspect a LOT of harem mangas are going to start ending like this. If the author of this series has a brain in their head, they’ll pick the pen back up and write 4 more endings!

On the other hand, what are the odds of authors writing Bad Ends? Dude picks a girl, one of the others flips out and starts kidnapping or killing, NTRing like there’s no tomorrow, terrifying the fans at every turn. I’ll bet Oliver would LOVE hating that!

Speak of the devil and he doth appear! Have fun camping, watch out for jackalopes and yetis! You’ve got like 2/3rds of a year more insanity to work out of your system, so do some white-water rafting or lava surfing, whatever is available. We’ll just be hanging out, taking care of your virtual waifus, wink wink nudge nudge.

While, my own theory is that after the mangaka of the actual manga crashed & burned, that you could rewrite the last 10 or so chapters of the manga, put them out as “Choose your own adventure” endings, and no one would believe that the mangaka’s actual ending was the “true” ending.

And as far as waifus are concerned, it’s easier to find people who hate Rem than it is to find anyone who doesn’t love Miku. She’s easily the most popular of the Quints, and for good reason: Of all the Quints, we get to see far and away the most growth out of her. She is an outstanding character, and really the only one we see who completely overcomes her issues.

Miku is a shining example of how badly the mangaka fucked up, as we can see the brilliance he achieved with her character, and the missed opportunities to do the same with her four sisters and the MC.

As I’ve ranted before, the actual choice of the Bride sucked donkey balls, not because of the Quint he picked, but because there was ZERO special in why he picked and fell in love with THAT particular Quint. And then we’re supposed to believe that after being engaged for FIVE YEARS before getting married, he and the love of his life NEVER talked or discussed a number of vital issues, including talking about their first kiss with each other (at a point where it was totally unbelievable that that particular Quint would’ve kissed him). Plus, they never addressed issues that were still outstanding with various Quints…and despite the mangaka repeatedly having the issue of the need to have the loser(s) in a love triangle/polygon/pentagon get over and move on with their lives, he doesn’t let the losing Quints do that, as there’s zero sign of any men in their lives, to the point where all of the Quints go on the honeymoon with their newlywed sister and brother-in-law….harem ending achieved.

As to this Miku, I don’t quite feel it. Just a pale imitation Miku. The real Miku ends up a very independent young woman who turns from a shy introvert, to a girl aggressive enough to pursue her dreams. So, I can see her being aggressive in bed, but this gal? She has a few nice moments, but she just can’t quite get there.

Curiously, or perhaps not so much, I stumbled across a review of “We Never Learn” on YouTube, wherein the reviewer stated that a fan reportedly posted a message on the manga-ka’s blog, stating their intention to commit suicide over the “sinking of their ship”, once it became clear who would be the winner, according to the original “There Can Be Only One” ending.

*Pause to Facepalm*

I have not followed up to find out if the fan changed their mind on their intent to kill themselves, when it was announced that there would be multiple endings, and honestly, that’s the fan’s business and not mine. Still, it does set a possible precedent for mangas, especially of the rom-com/harem genre, to take on a new approach, similar to that which (IIRC) visual novels (both “ero” and “non-H”) have probably been doing for years. Just maybe, it might even spread to light novels, too.

Well, no rush on that … we’ll see what happens in the future, both short-term and long-term.
