Kitsune No Mukoiri (“Marrying Into A Fox’s Family”) [English], by Sorai Shinya
Honest warning, this one contains drama, rape, annoying teenage anger, redemption and love. And lots of sex.
I’ve hesitated quite a bit about how much I should write to summarize Kitsune No Mukoiri to you.
I wouldn’t want you to (a) miss something worthy, or (b) perhaps regret you downloaded something you would hate, or (c) only half-enjoy the read because I already spoiled you all the interestingly written bits. That’s quite the conundrum to me.
Let’s simply say the male hero is a borderline suicidal teenager unable to enjoy life after his father disappeared and his mother lost her mind from the shock, and suddenly a sexy kitsune appears, explains she’s his stepsister and some things happened in the past…
The confusing mix of drama, love, rape, redemption, forgiveness was nerve-racking, but it wasn’t bad. The bad bits weren’t forgiveable, but it was possible to understand that they happened in a given context, let’s say.
All in all, I’d say it’s definitely worth reading… and the girl looked a-we-some

Short and to-the-point response to this work:

Just wonder why the father did not manage to come back to his world, given that he was not completely forget of his responsible for the human family back there. Wonder if he was under the magic domination of the fox mother and what he can do is telling his daughter about the situation ?
How often have you seen it raining while the sun is shining? That’s the only time someone can cross over. For it to last through two orgasms and a conversation’s-worth is pretty ridiculous.
Hail showers aren’t so infrequent, they happen several times a year. I also asked myself why the dad didn’t come back, I suppose it’s a “MAGIC!” reason. Maybe it’s a one-way crossing for non-natives, or whatever…
Because PLOT!
Cause some people are terrible parents. Just the way it goes sometimes
I was saddened by this story. Felt like a lose-lose situation for everyone. Childhood friend wasn’t able to confess (that she liked him despite his gloominess is commendable at least), guy’s mind never clears up, fox girl fell in love with the image of a brother she’s never met instead of who he actually is.
A story that comes to mind with a similar title (Maruwa Tarou’s “The Fox’s Wedding”), was heartwarming despite also also dealing with departed family members.
No story, but wallpaper nonetheless.
She is not his step-sister. She is his half-sister, they have the same father.
Isn’t it, precisely, a stepsister, either same dad or same mom?
It’s messy. Technically if you share a parent then it’s half-sibling. The general view of a step-sibling is that it’s due to parental remarriage and doesn’t include any shared blood. It’s possible for your step-sibling to also be your half-sibling if your parent was carrying on a long term affair, but usually you’d expect ‘half-sib’ to be used in that circumstance.
