Here’s one of the most sensible and well-written mangas you’ll find on Hentairules.net, on the topic of adultery.
Not some lame half-assed NTR or cuck fetish. Nope.
And now I feel a wound in my soul, just like when you’re exposed to harrowing and yet beautiful art.
The manga begins as wife and husband end their marriage. The wife explains to him how everything started. Her shock and outrage when she realized that he maintained a frequent habit of masturbating in private all the while rejecting sex with her for 4 years. Four years!
We have a window on her mind, as she has 3 successive lovers, we hear the justifications she finds herself to perform acts frowned upon by society.
We watch, as her emotions swirl so fast it’s all a blurry turmoil. Her joy to be acknowledged as a woman, her growing understanding of her own motives.
The mangaka skilfully depicts how she feels, torn between incompatible and yet simultaneous emotions, such as elation and sadness, relief and misery, immense joy and guilt, swirling together, contorting her smiles, until, at last, she’s honest with herself and, finally, that triggers the much too late honesty of her husband.
Damnit, that was too moving, even though that was sad and made me so angry.
Oh, and graphically? Despite the blur mosaics censorship, it’s incredibly well drawn.

I don’t know if the wife is trying to ask why the husband is masturbating alone… and there seems to be no attempt from the wife to communicate with the husband… I think that’s the only plothole in this doujin…

I think, it would have been a plot hole, were it to happen anywhere on Earth but in Japan. For what I gathered of Japanese culture, that shit is unfortunately believable :/

I decided to take the plunge and go through all three volumes before making any sort of comment.
Admittedly, it was rough to get through to the end, and I don’t foresee myself rushing to read it a second time. Nonetheless, I think this is perhaps the simplest way to express how I personally felt about this story. And I will likely say no more beyond it:
sadly, this entire manga serie can be summed up in three simple words: Poor communication kills
Still, quite a story, that one. A hurtful one, but still quite the story…

Joking aside, it’s an actual failure point of Japanese culture, the way I perceive it. “I shall not talk about this particular thing. My lack of talking will count as an actual argument. What I intended to convey will be fully perceived, others will properly act upon it, I shall not question that they understood it, and if they don’t understand, it’s their fault, all I must do is wait”.

The sex and art looked awesome, but the story…
I didn’t really feel sorry for anyone. But reading this is a painful slog.
It’s like I was forced to eat a mouthful of wasabi.

This goes both ways, unfortunately.
The man being infertile and ashamed about it, their discommunication and each other’s way to cope with it, that’s not a plothole, the whole thing hings on it.
But being vague with one’s feelings and expecting the other to “just get it” is often a theme in manga/hentai – I’m not sure how much of this is realistic in everyday japanese culture.
The whole story would have worked without the hentai bits, but Otaku Beam choose it as the canvas/vehicle to display gorgous (and disturbing) sex scenes.
The ending seems to imply that she has some private and (fullfilling?) conversation, maybe so/o else in her life. Giving him the final part of alimony and deleting his contact afterwards, though with some tears, servs as a “clean slate, no back to my new life” conclusion.

Stupid selfish, yes, but it’s still different for the two spouses. The husband has an explanation, the wife has a reason.
(Heh, that’s an intellectual point I frequently have with my kids, trying to help them avoid intellectual plot holes in the future: “you have explained why you did that; however, you have not justified that it should or could have been done”.)
The former didn’t want to talk because he felt shame (explanation), the latter was enraged after being ignored for 4 years when finding out masturbation still took place, so the message she got was that she was not desirable anymore.
¿3 chapters for this end?…maybe if end was in one chapter, will be…better, proud fo than more is not better.
If you can think, the husband was more compresive than the stupid wife(starting with the fact that he waited for her to finish her entire story that took her to 3 chapters, I would not let her finish even the 1st story), even in the end he don’t have grugdes.
Not matter the great graphics if you don’t accompany him with story. Prove of this are: CLONE NINGEN and ARAKURE, both have amazing arts, but….the stories are….(specially ARAKURE with never make somethign a diferent thematic in years).
Let us politely agree to disagree with something I perceive as highly biased, and simply move on, reaching a mutual agreement isn’t an obligation.
I pointed this one out a few weeks back and glad you found it. The art is just amazing, and the story has that “real” feel. Yes, the couple’s communication skills suck, but that happens IRL, a lot.
Ultimate fault here is the husband, whose plan seems to be: We just won’t have sex until she hits menopause.
The wife’s cheating is the understandable reaction, and a great example of logic at work: He’s REJECTING me! Oh, yeah, well, I’m going to prove I’m still a woman!
Completely logical, but proof that your answer can be completely logical, yet wrong. Sure, confronting him makes sense, but this after FOUR YEARS of neglect. That amount of time is enough to make her rage cheating believable and understandable.
In the end, we have a couple who loved each other, but hurt each other too badly to stay together, yet in the end it’s clear that they both care for one another, but she’s definitely moving on more than him.
The ending is interesting. She rejects going somewhere with him, wishes him well then leaves. We then see her on her phone walking through the park, a smile and slight blush on her face. She sees the bench she and her ex had sat at earlier, and we see her deleting his contact info, with a tear in her eye as she does so (not sure if this is a flashback or she decides to do it at that point), with back to the present with her looking up to the endless starry sky.
The symbolism is clear: she who can still produce life, has her freedom and fresh start, and though we know no details, it seems like she’s off to a promising start.
I’m not following with the “producing life” aspect, but otherwise, yeah.

eh, i think that’s giving too much vindication to the wife. There is no “Ultimate fault” here imo, since both are just as much to blame for the failing of their marriage. And that whole point about the “she can still produce life” is litterally reducing her entire character to just having kids, and not being her own person, wich i think is falacious.
then again, that’s my two cents…
I honestly loved chapters 1&3 (not a fan of rape and abusive behaviour). Both story and art. It IS very real and not only for Japan. She kept asking for trying for a child, so if at all, you can blame her for not asking directly „why do you neglect me?!“ and making a scene. But not everyone is cut out for fighting.
After being rejected for 4 years, him even moving out of their bed and her being patient and understanding despite her frustration it must have been soul-crushing. Adding insult to injury. He did not even speak up after noticing that she was obviously not OK and trying really hard. An absolute failure as a partner who would rather engage a detective than talk to his wife.
And for the end – she smiled and as she seems having someone who makes her happy she did the right thing by staying true to that person and NOT getting involved with another one she had emotional and physical entanglement with and deleting his contact.
that’s the thing tough: a relationship is made out of two people, not just one. Both kept silent at key moments where communication was the only thing that could salvage that. Instead they chose to keep silent, one neglecting his wife to the point of pushing her do to what she did, but this doesnt justify her not trying to confront him either, no matter how “cut for fighting” one is. Questioning someone MAY result in a fight, true, but avoiding it and playing ostrich doesnt make you right either.
Both basically just let this wound fester to the point of rot, both are responsible for this fiasco, and the only thing i would say to that ending is that while yes, the husband was a piece of shit for neglecting her, so was she for just staying silent and just cheating on him.

i was so mad to the husband, what is that ?!? I can’t have kid so i decided to make you lose hope of having any by not having any kind of intimate relationship with you. That is sooooooooooooo fucked up. The only blame i have with his wife is that she should have either tried to have a conversation with him if she wanted really to stay with that guy or just straight up leave him. I guess those choice arnt real choice in old fashion asian families.
That was a deep hentai, i loved it. I could feel emotions dueling in them, between love and hate, sadness and joy, high and low. Really well written and scripted
Both are kinda fault. It’s mainly a communication thing which is common in Japan.
You probably read a lot of stories about husband/wife couple not having sex due to extreme busy in work and other stuff.
It piles up and just spiral out of control.
These things do happen, In fact, I feel this story was already told in a drama or another work tbh.
I like the artwork and didn’t realize the artist has been doing work for awhile now. Though probably a new artist since I barely know any of his works.
